SEC Ranks:
No. 1 Scoring Defense (13.7 PPG)
No. 1 Rush Defense (81 YPG)
No. 1 in Sacks (41)
No. 1 in TD’s Allowed (15)
No. 3 Total Defense (280 YPG)
So, if you were coach and know your D can help win games what would tell your QB? I’d tell him to not turn the ball over. We lost 3 games last year by turnovers. As hard as it is to watch as a fan - it makes logical sense to just play offense very conservative. And its working.
It isn’t required to throw all over the field. Having said that our RB room is dinged up so we are being cautious using them.
One thing that still stands true - defense travels. OU had the most prolific offenses and all it ever got us was a bunch of stats. Now the script is changed. And peeps are trying to use it as a problem lol. I’ll take a great D over a great O all day long.
BV has done an outstanding job rebuilding the D. And meanwhile he did a horrible job in hiring OC’s. Arbuckle has some talent but its his first year and with some limitations. As bad as it looks he will get another year so we have some consistency on offense. OLine is young and improving. Will have a full off season to fully implement his system and get more players in. We saw early season vs Michigan how it can look. Then had some key injuries including QB that changed it. I think having a full off season will make a difference.
Anyways, who cares how many yards we give up when the goal is to win and we just beat 3 ranked teams in a row with 2 on the road in front of over 100k screaming opposing fans. Few teams walk into those stadiums and walk out with a win. We did and I don’t care how many yards we gave up.

Against Bama you had a total of 3 points that weren’t generated off of turnovers and consistently failed to even convert your red zone turnover possessions into TDs. Your offense wasn’t much better against TN and you allowed almost 400 yards passing to Aguilar who is probably worse than any QB you would conceivably see in a CFP matchup. If you think you can maintain a 2-3:1 turnover margin consistently in a playoff setting all that I’ll tell you is good luck.
And yet we still beat both Alabama and Tennessee….
Texas needed double OT twice to beat a couple unranked teams. No one fricking cares unless you win (unless you’re Alabama fans that won’t stfu about it)

Still melting.
Stop it.
17 pts off turnovers and only 57 yards on Bama's last 4 drives...that is not the sign of a fluke win. A fluke win is a pick6 in the final minutes, a TD return on a blocked kick, etc. Bama lost because OU was better and didn't have to move the ball that far.
You can keep saying shite like melting all you want, I won't be "stopping it". I know what I saw and I don't really give a frick what you think about it.
Oklahoma got lucky. It's not the first fluke win I've seen in my life, but it is one of the flukiest. Up there with Ole Miss in 2015.

We lost the turnover margin against Texas and Ole Miss... and lost.
And in those two games... we gave up a punt return for a TD (due to a block in the back)...
And in the Ole Miss game... our guy fumbled after a punt return that would have set us up at mid field for a go ahead late fourth quarter lead...
So turnovers and special teams errors have played a part in OU's two fluke...er... losses this year as well.
Yeah, that's football.
It happens. Hard to win games if you lose the turnover margin, and at the same time you can't count on those types of things either.

Naw, you just forgot what special teams and defense looks like played at a really high level.
You can watch our highlight tape after the season if you want to remember what Saban actually preached every day of his life.

The Alabama defense played better than Oklahoma. You gave up 3 drives over 70 yards for TDs and over 400 yards.
The longest drive Oklahoma had was 41 yards for a FG.
I was not impressed. I'd have felt worse about Alabama going into the future if the teams were switched despite the win.

That will 100% be fixed next week. No worries

So you saw Bama try to win, yet only get 57 yards across their final 4 crucial drives. Drives with the game on the line.

Sounds like their D did the job and gave them a short field all game.
How is that a fluke.
Cope baw. Cope.

I’d be criticizing Bama the same way if the tables were turned going into the CFP.
Hell I’m criticizing Bama going into Jordan-Hare to play a 5 win Auburn in other threads.
Because both teams have major issues right now and anyone being objective can see it.

You are arguing against OU's defense here yet...

Your very next sentence shows just how good it is.
Strange behavior you Bamtards have. Strange indeed.

Here's a question for you....who would opposing coaches rather play against in the CFP? A red hot OU team with stifling defense and all universe special teams, or a Bama team "who can OuTGaiN YoU IN YaRDs"?

There's some scenarios I've seen where OU might not be done with Alabama. Should they mess around and win the next two they could even be right back in Bryant Denny, and I wouldnt want to be Oklahoma if that happens.
there are no scenarios if OU wins that they are on the road the first round. It would be Bama at OU

I guess Florida St got lucky as well?
Face it, Bama sucks but keep on crying. We all know Bama fans are a bunch of pussies.

Alabama's last drive was longer than any drive Oklahoma had the entire game.
And the main reason for the lack of yards is because DeBoer wanted to run the game out on the last drive expecting to score. Which may have been a mistake.

What Alabama did to Oklahoma defensively the entire game wasn't luck either. I wouldn't trade defenses with you.

So I guess you got that going for you. Personally, I think you're just mad because you expect respect from getting a win and none is being given because everyone who understands football knows it was a fluke win and in the event of a rematch, the spread would be even larger than it was before.
Anyway, congrats on your win, but stop asking me to pretend it was because you were a better team.
My biggest take away is your FG kicker is much better than ours.

No, Alabama just played like shite. 1st game for a new starting QB on the road in a tough environment. Not at all the same as the Oklahoma game.
