bullshite. We are not mid-majors. We are at the top of the mountain in all college sports. mid-majors making Elite Eights is gigantic. A school with our money and resources making the Elite Eight is good.............not great.

So Auburn has made the sweet 16 twice in eleven years. Are you saying Bruce has underperformed mightily?

bama fans keep bringing up this meaningless shite. Final Fours is the only "tournament success" for major bball programs. That is how you are judged.

Carolina fan here...I agree with the bama fan. frick Frank, dude was arse. 10 years...one tournament. It was fun but 2 weeks of fun in 10 years is not great

Mightily is strong. He has definitely underperformed in the Tourney, in some years, from what he has built.

What he inherited............he is making our bball history right before our very eyes.

Even though Avery didn’t leave the mess that Barbee did, Oats is doing the same thing at Alabama. Yesterday doesn’t change that.

It goes far beyond Barbee. Auburn would have a good year here and there. We have never seen anything like this with the bball program. He is building the program to where SEC Championships and Final Fours are expected. Unrealistic, but true.

Final Fours are expected

This is where I call bullshite.

You can’t expect that when he’s only made it out of the first weekend twice in eleven years. You have to advance to have expectations and Bruce hasn’t done that outside of two runs.

Depends what your school is spending money on. Believe it or not some mid majors(big east comes to mind) outspend football first schools in basketball. Duke and Louisville make half the revenue of sec schools yet they invest more money into bball than everyone in the sec except Kentucky. Grand Canyon st creighton Xavier Gonzaga Marquette all would’ve been in the top half of sec in bball budget this year.

If you are a 1 or 2 seed, a FF should be expected. You have to beat ONE team to make a FF. If you are a 5 seed or higher...........sure, a FF is unrealistic. With the budgets our schools have, you should be a top 3 seed every year.

ETA I think Bruce has finally figured out small guards is not the answer. Guard play is ginormous come Tourney time. You need bigger athletic guards. Guard play doomed us some years in the Tourney.

Their football programs suffer for it. Duke and Louisville are bball schools first and foremost. That's the same thing with UK. Hell, you can put Kansas in the same boat. Duke and Louisville are by no means mid-majors though.

Making back to back final fours is damn hard.

Fwiw you have to go back to the 90s for the last time Duke made back to back Final Fours. It's hard AF & Bama should feel great about the Elite Eight

I was responding to you saying that, even though I named several mid majors, yes Louisville and duke aren’t but they are a great example of teams with half your money outpacing you in basketball spending(of course football suffers for it but that has nothing to do with them outspending half the sec and big ten in bball which was the premise you laid out). The point still remains just bc you make more money than a school doesn’t mean you out spend them in basketball. You understand right? You know if you make 60 million but only spend 5-10 million on bball you’re on the same page as every other team that only spent 5-10 million. You get that don’t you? Yeah you do you’re not a dumb dumb. Anyways that’s how math works.
