Former NFL running back Zac Stacy brutally attacked the mother of his child, punching her in the head before slamming her into a television as their 5-month-old son sat feet away ... and the terrifying incident was captured on video.

TMZ Sports has learned ... the disturbing altercation happened at 30-year-old Stacy's ex-girlfriend's home in Florida on Saturday.

We're told Stacy became furious and aggressive with his ex during an argument ... and that's when video shows the former 5th-round pick swinging at her head before yanking her off a couch, tossing her across the room and into the TV.

The TV then falls on top of the woman as she tries to calm Stacy down ... but he throws an object at her and storms into a corner.

Throughout the video, you can hear the woman begging Stacy to stop.

We're told the woman called cops immediately after the altercation, but Stacy fled the scene before law enforcement was able to arrive.

Just saw the thread on OT. That's fricking terrible. Hopefully he gets punished pretty severely for that. Looks like he's throwing around a damn rag doll.

That’s explosive rage from someone who’s used to intimidating his partner to maintain power and control.
It’s not his first outburst, I’d bet.
Without factoring in the trauma the infant is witnessing/absorbing, this is vile.

No better description. And he can't run far enough to run from this mess.

Yeah, I have a feeling he might not be coming back home anytime real soon.

They state might can get him anyway with the video but in 90% + of these cases the woman refuses to cooperate with the state atty and they have to drop the charges and they end up back together with it repeating again.

That's what I would claim. Toss in some pre-trial intervention, xrays and mri's and whatnot, get off with probation and a treatment plan, and some restitution.

Nobody ever takes responsibility for their actions. It's always somebody or something else's fault.

The baby is only 5 months. He didn't know or will not know anything about this.

But yes Stacy is a bitch who should just off himself
