Also good for Fowler for getting on a roster. Tough for fullbacks.

This is like a double revenge response thread.

Here's our list of first rounders. Feel free to underline the ones you feel are busts based on your own criteria. The ones I've bolded have either made a pro-bowl at some point or led their team this year in a major statistic. 4 of the 7 who are left un-bolded are starting OL in the league. Good luck. One of the remaining three left unbolded was Rolando McClain, who was suspended for the first 4 games and still racked up 80+ tackles.
Mark Barron
James Carpenter
Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix
Landon Collins
Amari Cooper
Marcel Dareus
DJ Fluker
Mark Ingram
Kareem Jackson
Julio Jones
Dre Kirkpatrick
Rolando McClain
Dee Milliner
CJ Mosley
Andre Smith
Chance Warmack

You realize the majority of those players have signed their SECOND contract, right?
You know what that means, right?

Bolded players are on at least their 2nd contract. So which of those do you feel are receiving unfair playing time because of their contracts? TIA.

Some Have signed big second contracts. You still consider them bust even though teams thought well enough of them to sign them for a second time. Julio and Marcel are the highest or amongst the highest paid at their position. Bengals picked up Kirkpatricks 9 million dollar option at the beginning of the season and he will sign a contact for 9 million a year just as Kareem Jackson did this off season when he resigned with the Texan.

Surprisingly, PFF rated Hightower as the the best blitzer in the NFL.
ETA: This is pretty surprising too:
quote:
Best Blitzer: Dont’a Hightower, New England Patriots
Hightower led all linebackers with a 94.0 pass rush rating, picking up four sacks, two hits, and 18 hurries on 116 rushes. Even though some of that came as a pure edge rusher, few linebackers attack the “A” gap like Hightower.
Runner-up: Anthony Barr, Minnesota Vikings
ETA: This is pretty surprising too:
quote:
and Hightower went the entire season without surrendering a touchdown in coverage

Again, you are only as good as your performance vs what they pay you in the NFL. The NFL GMs have a tendency to overpay talent, then are forced to play them. I think you saw the with Trent and Ingram and a few others on that list.

Again, which ones on that list are receiving undeserved playing time because of their contracts?
Ingram just re-signed with the Saints for 4 years/$16Mil with $6.1 guaranteed. He made the Pro-Bowl last year.
You know not of what you speak of.

Why just choose this season? Interesting move.

The Saints signed Ingram because he was their cheapest option. They found out this year that you get what you pay for. They seem happy having a 700 yard rusher as long as they have a Drew Brees as their feature player. You see what those results got them.

Why would I include any other season? Last year Bama lead the entire country in Pro Bowl selections. Would have made us look a lot better if I had included previous seasons.
