For State Fans - Which game is bigger

In another post I stated that growing up in Mississippi and having graduated from Mississippi State that the Alabama game was always a bigger game to us than the Ole Miss game. I also said that I graduated in 96 and moved away so I do not know if the younger generation feels the same way, but that I was sure my generation, that actually went to State, felt that way. Another member said I was lying and that he never had heard a State fan say this. Starkville is 82 Miles from Tuscaloosa and about 100 miles from Oxford. So I am asking State fans, which is the bigger game to you? I do not mean just for this year. Year in and year out.. which is bigger.

I would think Ole Miss simply because most years they actually have a chance to win.

I have
But I grew up in the Jackson area where the population is majority State or Ole Miss.

I hope Miss St isn't looking ahead to Ole Miss and overlooking Alabamaa.

Alabama is definately a bigger game but we want Ole Miss to suck and fail (moar) at everything.

Are Ole Miss and Mississippi State really rivals?

Bama to us is like LSU to them. We may troll them with it, but OM is the bigger rival to the vast majority of our fanbase. Let us win a couple against Bama, and we'll reevaluate.

I can't make myself worry about that

No worries there. I did jokingly tell one of my Alabama coworkers that I think this Alabama game might be a trap game for us since we have Vandy next week.

Whoever is the bigger team or we have more to gain from. Bama is always the bigger win if we win but its usually an automatic loss so ole miss is the bigger game. Then you have the tards that just want to beat ole miss because they cant handle losing to them.

We do. When you lose to Bama we will need to beat you to get the head to head on you and bama. It's not over yet brochacho
This of course only happens if auburn beats Bama and UGA beats auburn. It's not out of the question

I've always hated the Bama game more. I went to Tuscaloosa probably a dozen times over my college career, I've only been to Oxford twice. The issue is for there to be a real rivalry, you have to be able to take something from the other team. You have to be of comparable strength. State and Bama haven't been on the same level whereas Stare and Ole Miss generally are.
For me personally, OM is definitely more of a rival. But I also have way more contact with Bama, so I could see that being more of a hatred if we continue to perform well.
