5* local booster judge for the win!
Posted on 2/8/26 at 12:42 pm to AHM21
who cares? nathaniel oats will never win a national championship and the player who couldn't cut it in the g league is average at best

The punishment could simply be no NCAA tourney. If they don't punish then everyone will do this with a local judge. Just because the judge - who ended up recusing - wrote that doesn't make it gospel

This is wishful thinking. There’s been no indication this is the direction the NCAA goes and even the NCAA president is saying the courts rule.

Does this mean they won’t vacate last Sunday’s game either?
Posted on 2/8/26 at 12:52 pm to theCAW
After last Sunday I’d have never thought this team would follow up with wins against aTm and at Auburn. As bad as it was, the team bounced back this week and the next five games are manageable.

So you think denying a trip to the NCAA tournament would somehow NOT be deemed a retaliatory punishment, which is specifically not allowed in the court ruling? You dont think Alabama would have an airtight lawsuit case there? And then an NCAA rep goes on to say that there are numerous reasons not to do it, but you still think this a possibility.
I’ll go on record stating that I don’t think Bediako should’ve been allowed to play, but your post is just rival fan delusion.

Delusion is thinking that a judge is all powerful and can dictate the NCAA how to handle its own organization

Won't happen. Keep coping.

Well those requirements are only in place “temporarily” while the Court makes its decision and allows the parties to present their arguments. Should the Court rule in favor of the NCAA, then the NCAA could levy any punishment it sees fit for playing an “ineligible” player.

The NCAA will not punish because the order states they can’t do it. Again, wishful thinking.
But I do understand Auburn fan being in shambles today.

quote:The Temporary Restraining Order says that. Also, apparently the NCAA moved to void the TRO because of improper notice.

I worry that you may be giving people the impression you only follow Alabama instead of college sports in general.
Here is an interesting article about Texas A&M's best player, Rashaun Agee.
The NCAA denied his appeal for eligibility this season so Agee/A&M appealed and the case was heard by a local Brazos Co judge, becuase, well, that's where the plantiff lives:

quote:
In issuing the injunction, Brazos Co Judge Wise said, “There might be a different result later, but today I’m approving the temporary restraining order.” However, it is unlikely the case would come to trial before the end of the men’s basketball season
Interested in college football teams other than Alabama?:
You can also read about Louis Moore, a 26 year old safety for the defending champion Indiana Hoosiers. It's a good story about Moore being denied eligibility for last season by the NCAA until he, with the aid of Indiana lawyers, filed suit to get a TRO for him to play. A nice twist is that his legal team wisely filed the case in Moore's old hometown even though he resided in Indiana to stay out of the NCAA's backyard.

They can’t do this either. Look as long as they allow professional European players to play you can’t create unfair rules that prohibit American players under the same circumstances to not play. Down vote all you want but it doesn’t mean that the above statement is incorrect. Bediako is not even the first American player to do this

He never played pro. He played in a minor league. Never set foot in an NBA game.

Didn't leave college and sign a pro contract then return. He was trying to get an additional year of eligibility while still in school. That article is simply about the TRO being granted.

A football player who wanted the JUCO year like Pavia. Again, didn't leave college, go to the draft, sign a pro contract with an NFL team and return to school.

This appears to be wrong.
