Luckily he's still got plenty of time to redeem himself. Just looking at that thread he has a lot of encouraging messages of support as well.

I get the state of public education in our country but how in this Hell does this kid even get to the 12th grade?

What God forsaken HS did this kid go to?

Not blaming the kid or making fun of him but wasn't there q coach or teacher who cared enough about the guy to help him with some basic skills?

THIS x 10000
Whoever taught this kid in HS (in any class that requires basic writing skills) should be placed on suspension immediately.
Well, that kind of *is* the state of public education in this country. It's bad, especially for those already facing some structural disenfranchisement.

I'm not going to hate on this kid. For many reasons. One big one is that he is actually owning his situation and saying he has to do better.

Somehow, I think he'll sort it out and do ok. Accountability is a key ingredient in grit. Godspeed, Diwan.

I mean is it really that surprising that a dude named Diwan didn't academically qualify at a good school?

Not where live and not the schools I went to or my Nieces and Nephews attended.

I looked up his school and it mostly Hispanic and other minorities.Sadly it is the state of public education in those schools.

This is the problem though. "Well most public schools suck but the ones my kids go to are great." It's the same reason like 90% of incumbents still get reelected to Congress despite low approval ratings.

you can definitely cherry pick many public schools that serve the upper tier students well. I think we both know I'm not talking about those kids. Heck, I was one of them.

No idea what you're talking about as usual.

There's wasn't one kid that I went to HS with that would've passed 9th grade with that that grammer.

You couldn't graduate from my HS unless you could correctly write a college level term paper and that included all students not just AP or college prep.
