If you regularly play Florida and this doesn’t concern you, then you don’t know football.

I hate that yall hired Sumrall (stupid spelling. Just all time stupid spelling of Summerall), just like I hated bama hiring Deboer. I think he’s a good coach and I want you to fail. Your hire makes this less likely.

I hope Florida loses every game in every sport and that each one of their fans catches every red light on their commute too and from work every day into perpetuity

I seem to remember a ton of articles like that when Napier was putting his staff together too

SC talked to him, but Briles was set on Randy "Clem" Clements ... and we like him a lot.

We did take the RB coach from Penn State, Stan Drayton.

quote:

Kendal Briles joins South Carolina from Texas Christian University (TCU), where he served as associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach from 2023 to 2025.

He previously held the same role at Arkansas from 2020 to 2022. Briles is set to earn a three-year contract worth $2 million in the first year, increasing by $100,000 annually, with incentives and buyout clauses included.

His hiring marks a strategic shift toward a more dynamic offensive identity under head coach Shane Beamer.

Randy Clements arrives from TCU as the new offensive line coach, bringing 35 years of coaching experience.

He previously coached at Baylor, Florida State, Ole Miss, and North Carolina, and has worked with Briles for 12 seasons across four schools.

Clements has been hired on a two-year deal at $725,000 annually.

Stan Drayton comes to South Carolina from Penn State, where he served as running backs coach in 2025.

With over 30 years of experience at the collegiate and NFL levels, Drayton previously served as head coach at Temple and has a strong track record in developing 1,000-yard rushers and mentoring future NFL backs.
He has been hired on a three-year contract at $775,000 per year.

This is shaping up to be the most exciting staff assembled at Florida in a really long time. Whether it translates to wins or not, who knows. But it is extremely encouraging.

The last two coaches just hired friends. Prime example being Mark Hocke. Napier's S&C guy from Louisiana Lafayette was made one of the highest paid strength and conditioning coaches in the country. I think he was the 2nd highest paid in 2022. An article says in 2023 he was still the 4th highest paid. In 2023 he also got extended. Then 2024 he got "transitioned" into being a Director of Player Relations getting paid 750k per annum. Guy goes from being paid the 2nd most in the country, to not even being deemed worthy of holding the job title. How does that happen? Was Napier getting kickbacks?

This is the quintessential Billy Napier story. It was just never-ending retardation. And the worst part was that his on-field game day performance made his off-field performance look masterful in comparison.

It's almost as if Florida is building an army that will make them unstoppable!

"We're going to hire an army of people here," Napier noted when asked about rising expectations as he makes the leap from a head coach in the Sun Belt Conference into the Southeastern Conference.

According to the employment agreement for Napier given by the University, Napier will have access to $7,500,000 for his support staff (10 full-time assistant football coaches). By comparison, Mullen had an assistant salary pool of $6,185,000 for 2020. The staff now will certainly be robust.
