This thread is pointless. Life is meaningless. Yet here we all are, in cyberspace, arguing as if either side is going to change their mind.

Uga is 8-22 over the past 30 years, vs Florida. With a current 2 game winning streak.
How do explain 30 years of just pure domination?

Yet UF is still well behind in the series. How do you explain the historic domination of UGA?

But to answer your question= SOS, CUM, CMR, Ray Goff, Jim Donan. And none of those guys have anything to do with the series any more.

I can explain it, let's just say UG was really good at beating UF before they put face masks on the helmets, since then, not as good.

This year though, they look a lot like South Carolina last year. A team that probably ended up with a record better than the team really was.

Except we’re better coached and have better players. And I like Bentley but Franks has a much, much higher ceiling.

Most Gator fans acknowledge we overachieved last year in a transition season. Those rarely go well. So rambling on about margin of victory and defeat isn’t shedding new light on anything. We get it. We were a bit lucky to go 10-3 in Mullen’s first year.

Where we weren’t lucky was in the turnover margin. Tennessee gave us the game last year but other than that, the vast majority of our turnovers were legit takeaways. Can’t blame us if Joe Burrow, DeAndre Francois, Shea Patterson, etc. couldn’t hold onto the ball or make good decisions against our pressure.

Also you’re using total defense, a laughably flawed stat. Yards per play is far more telling and South Carolina, FSU, and Michigan finished 60th, 31st, and 4th in opponent yards
per play in 2018.

I could also see us going 8-4 this year given the injuries and attrition we’ve dealt with. But someone could drive a train through the holes in the rationale you provided.

Koreandawg, your passion for UGA is admirable. You conveniently overlooked several things about UF when you mention we had some close wins...we also led UGA last year 14-13 early in the 3rd qt before the wheels came off.

This is Mullens second year and the players now have a much better grasp of the system...including Franks. You may not be as lucky as last year when we had to start a 3rd string corner...which you smartly picked on. We are 2-2 the last four games and you guys act like you have a dozen straight wins against us. Be prepared for this year in the WLOCP when we beat you.....its coming.

This was about Florida and not UGA, of which I said hardly anything about in the OP. As someone else noted, I correctly predicted UF to be 9-3 last year, despite most everyone else thinking they'd be 7-5 or so.

As far as our game, at what time in that game did you possess the lead and the ball? If you are wondering, I also correctly predicted that it would be a close game with us leading mostly for 3 quarters and then we'd pull away.

The year before I predicted an absolute blow out and that Gary and Brad would be discussing how we stack up with Bama in the fourth quarter.

I've been pretty good with these two teams the past two years.

No one would be shocked??? I would. Florida reminds me of the Butch Jones days at UT. The Gators are actually buying all the hype old Dan is dishing out. Hope and hype. Have at it Gators. It worked so well at UT!!
Hopefully the Canes will instill a little long overdue reality in Hogtown

We act like we have won 2 in a row by an average of 27 points.

Considering it improved 6 wins last year.

You played 2 extra games + an easier ooc opener. That’s 3 of the improved wins right there. A 4th was FSU being terrible. It also helped to not have 20 guys missing at some point in the season with a healthy starting QB.

I feel pretty certain about the losses to UGA, LSU and Auburn. The other loss could be Mizzou, Tennessee or South Carolina, but I'm gonna go with SC since it's on the road and following two tough games.

Good call.

The Gators have been irrelevant for 1/4 as long as the mutts.

UF’s irrelevant now.

Meanwhile in the last 3 years, Smart’s won the East twice & an SEC Championship. GA also made Heisman QB Mayfield cry after the playoff semifinal — considered one of the greatest Rose Bowl games ever — & went on to the Championship.

What have the Gators done lately? Nothing. Except lose to GA. We own you: 42-7, 36-17. And we’re gonna own you Nov 2. Smart’s gonna run that score up big. And he’ll keep walking into the state of Florida & taking whatever recruits he wants.

CalDawg is the one that says we won't score more than 20 points but doesn't want to take a ban bet because he's full of shite.

I repeat, CalDawg: Ban bet offer -- we score more than 20 points against Miami.

I’ve seen Florida beat Georgia 3 times as many times in my life as you have seen Georgia beat Florida.

That must suck for you. These threads make more sense now.

Carry on.
