Les was a terrible coach but a hell of a recruiter. Especially when football was still 3 yards and a cloud of dust gameplay. He could get you the big uglies up front to get that done. Unfortunately he just never could adapt beyond that play style.

You can say he was not a great coach but a terrible coach looks like Hallman, not Miles. He is the only LSU coach to play for two NCs (so far
). You don't have to love him to admit he did a pretty good job at LSU even if he was falling behind every year at the end.
