Dan Mullen here. Scrimmage two was good. Hasn't been able to watch a lot of it yet so far, but what little he's seen still some sloppiness they have to get corrected. Lack of playing football is what you see in terms of errors and mistakes. Did see some good football and some improvement, you'd just like to be further along, but overall pleased with the guys. Really likes some of the effort that they have out there on the field. Guys are playing hard and trying to play the game.

Thinks they're headed in the right direction, executing, popping pads and playing better football. Said 22 guys playing at a higher level than scrimmage 1 happened, but the mistakes are still a lot of little mental things. More consistency but not consistent of where you want to be to play an SEC game.

Mullen said Kadarius Toney has really developed as a wide receiver. Came in as a high school quarterback, has worked to learn the position. "He's taken such a huge step forward in becoming a wide receiver now, not just kind of a get-it-to guy. ... every down being a wide receiver I think he's taken some huge steps forward."

Mullen asked about foot placement, accuracy and improving through progressions for Trask. He got a little more work yesterday in the scrimmage than the first, but he had a bit of an off day. They put more on his plate. They’re going to simplify things now that they’re getting into game plans, so that’ll make it easier for him as they go forward. He has really improved the speed of how he goes through things. Trask spends a lot of extra times in meetings. He’s always around the office because he’s a grad student. Has a lot of control and ability to check into things at the line of scrimmage.
