Now suddenly Florida is changing things up by adding Power OOC opponents outside their annual game against FSU.
As a college football fan, you should educate yourself instead of listening to all the anti-SEC bashing about schedules going on out there. The SEC plays more power 5 out of conference games than any other conference. As for Florida, they also play Miami periodically. No, they are not out of state, but so what. There is no other state that has a team playing 2 other out of conference power 5 teams on a regular basis. If A&M had a series against Texas and another Texas team, it would be another one. But, they don't.
I don't think he was being critical, just making an observation about what could possibly be going on.

I thought there would be no math, but doesn't the SEC play less power 5 in conference games than any other conference?
No.

This is simply because Texas schedule is straight garbage. They have tried to schedule every single SEC team in an effort to be told their schedule isn't hot trash.
But it still is
But it still is

Poor aggy.

How does this affect A&M, exactly? Texas will get their clocks cleaned when playing a real team. Been proven time and time again

Didn't they just play a real team in their last game?

ColoradoAg is just being fussy.
Bless his heart.

I wish you and your current sperm the best but you should not let your kids witness the arse whippinq Texas puts on Florida.

That would be my guess. Expand the field so if your schedule is strong enough you can lose a couple of games and still possibly get in. Then folks will schedule tougher teams and have more sellouts.
There is certainly an argument against it... I'm still of the mind that UGA is going too far down the path... with the years where we're doubling up on some combination of Texas, Clemson, and FSU + annual game with Tech and no clue what the west rotation will be... But we'll see whether Kirby is overplaying the hand there or if he's the trendsetter and more programs follow suit...

I think we have always been at 9 Power 5 games with an occasional 10, but now want to make it 10 every year.
Here is a tweet to Scott Stricklin and his reply today.

We should just start playing Miami again but people would still cry about not leaving the state.

That would be fine by me. I would also not mind playing FSU and Miami every other year.
4 year rotation would be something like this:
Year 1: @FSU
Year 2: Miami
Year 3: FSU
Year 4: @Miami
I think playing each of them 5 years out of 10 is good. the Miami rivalry is underrated. It is much older than FSU.
That would piss off FSU though.

So you are saying that Sugar Bowl Georgia is not a real team. I believe they are real. They’ve been kicking us around the last few years. What an insult. You just called one of your SEC brothers not “real”. Your identity, SEC, you’ve got nothing else. At least Georgia is a whole hell of a lot better then aggy who hasn’t won shiit since before WW2. Texas constantly beat your sheep lickin asses. And what the hell does this have to do with aggy anyway?

Foley spent years trying to play Miami annually in Orlando or Tampa but they only want home and home. Guess they don't like making money.

Georgia has generally been at 10 about 4 out of 5 years (over the past 20 years or so) if I had to take a wild guess without looking it up. We've got the 8 SEC games + Tech... But we're actually looking at 11 in 2 or 3 years in the late 2020s based on the current projected schedules. It just seems unnecessary.

I am a realist. I'm unhealthy. I eat garbage. I drink way too much. I'm not likely to make it to 2030 to see this game. I've made my peace with that. I'll go to my grave relatively soon with Texas having a dominant head-to-head record against a&m, OU, Bama - and pretty much everyone else.
But we always get our clocks cleaned when we play a real team

The multitude of intersectional games getting scheduled is nice to see. Haven’t seen this volume of them since the 1970s and 1980s.
