We just disagree on that. Lagway definitely sucked at reading the field and usually QBs have that or they don't. Richardson was another one who couldn't read the field. Maybe Baylor surprises me and can teach him that. They will either need to do that or keep the passing offense kind of more basic imo to be a contender in the Big 12. Golesh knows first hand Lagway can't read the field good so if Lagway shows a good ability to do it in that game maybe they have got him corrected.

I think we go 8-4 but I might be underestimating the O line situation. RT has me really nervous with Ugorji there. I guess the Auburn game is when we find out the real deal with the O line.

Damn man your expectations for Lagway are so high and that was with a terrible offensive gameplan. Can't imagine the expectations you have for Philo who's inexperienced but has an actual playcaller.
I figured you bring up Richardson. I mean there was never a plan for Mullen to get fired. He came in with the expectation to run the spread. Not that horrific pro style offense. I can't believe you're defending Napier. It's hilarious. I hope you think of Graham Mertz the same way because he was the worst one out of the three when it came to pure athletic ability. Last thing we need is a check down QB.
I guess no one is allowed to improve during the offseason according to your logic lol Lagway will be okay.

It's not a bad prediction but you're expecting to win on the road and we haven't done that consistently in a long time. So let's hold off until the team knows how to do so. The OL will struggle on the road initially due to how loud it gets so lack of communication leads to pre-snap penalties and lack of checks which leads to missed blocks.
I don't understand the Ugorji move. Is Caden Jones who's an All American that bad? I guess we are about to find out and it makes me nervous because it's on the road and not at home. I would have said we win that game if it was at the swamp.

Byrum didn't really light it up against any of the tougher teams he played last year.
He did okay against Florida's defense.

I hated Napier the last years but had some false hope as fans do about turning things around. My view on Lagway's issue is separate from the bad coaching but I may end up wrong and a new staff has him reading the field like a top QB. What was funny about the Lagway stuff in 25 was after the FSU and Tulane games in 24 we had opposing fans here saying he was a one trick pony with his deep throws and that the SEC would adjust in 25. I ignored it at the time hoping he was the real deal.

He did alright yardage wise but didn't put many points on the board. Being at Auburn will help him against better competition though.

I think separating Lagway's issue from bad coaching is completely unfair. Idk what you wanted him to do? Not listen to what the coach is telling you to do? There's no point in getting benched for insubordination lol but anyways I guess we have moved on to Philo which is a huge gamble due to his inexperience.

Napier was a joke coach but he didn't tell Lagway you aren't allowed to make proper reads. Lagway may learn to do it better and turn out better this season but coaching doesn't cause someone not to see the field. Sumrall got a first hand view of Lagway with his overmatched team in that bowl game besides the 25 tape and made no attempt to retain him. He chose to just drop in coverage to keep Lagway from burning them and lighting the scoreboard up with long passes.
Hard to tell on Philo. One good thing on tape is he deals with the pass rush good but we will see how he is as a starter.

I wonder what they even did during the film session. Idk man coaching does matter. I know it matters this season with Philo so we'll see.
Would have been nice to keep Lagway. Would have been a more interesting QB competition. Griffin is the future. I like that Davidson kid too.
ACC pass rushers vs SEC pass rushers. I think you know the difference.

Auburn will win. They got the better coach.
Sumrall will still put on his TEMU Muschamp mean act post game.

Lagway wasn't bad at reads for a second year guy.
Napier generally set him up for failure.

Well I do think Philo is definitely in better hands that is for sure. Don't think FAU can tell us much though but that game is a nice prep for our defense for that hurry up offense Auburn will be running.

There is a reason why I have Missouri losing to Florida, MSU, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, OU, and Arkansas. Did anyone watch Virginia blowing out NC State today? Virgina quarterback was the starter last year for Mizzou. Drinkwitz hasn't done much with quarterbacks lately. That is why Missouri offense will not be good once again. I picked Missouri to go 5-7 this season.

Why did Mizzu let him leave?

I am not the HC. I believe the Ole Miss quarterback transferred to Missouri then He saw the writing on the wall that he might not get to start for Mizzou. I am shocked that Ole Miss didn't keep him from going to Missouri. We will find out if Drinkwitz made the right choice to let him walk.

I think the home field is the big key in a close game. So I would go Auburn in a close game.
