You really believe that is the Florida expectation for Mullen?
That doesn't match the expectation with Mullen's hire.

If Franks was serviceable, you would've beat Georgia last year. Instead, he missed a wide arse open receiver on the opening play of the game for a TD.

The expectation for any UF HC is to win National championships and have exciting offense. Beating UF's rivals allows a HC more years at UF to try. Winning the SEC is up there.
UGA fans are so fixated on the offseason simply because y'all don't know what a winner looks like. I don't know how many times I have heard "Year of the Dawgs", only for UGA to wilt away by the end of the year.

ya clearly don't know that it takes top players to win. That is part of the offseason.

Well we have recruited as well as Clemson over any recent time period. They seem to have enough talent to win. Washington made the playoff with lesser recruiting than Florida as well. I think we know what it takes to win as the underdog (2006) and the favorite (2008) and Mullen was a big part of those teams.
I think it is funny that Yatesy is telling Florida fans that we don't know what it takes to win. Good one Yatesy!
So what else ya got? Because recruiting is fricking boring and there is another board for that.

Ok, so it's a coaching problem at UF. Got it.

I have a question for Georgia fans.
How exactly do you "hunker down?"
I looked it up and it's not really flattering.

Ask Dan Mullen about the informal use of hunker

I'm asking Georgia fans, who say the phrase as a cheer. It is something you probably don't know much about, but I am sure will continue to comment on.
I do have a question for you.
Did Mullen bang your

So, are you saying Dan Mullen has a problem with infidelity?Florida fans have really sunk to an all time low.

I *believe* it was first used in connection with UGA in the song Bulldog Bite, released prior to the 1980 season.
Specifically the whole lyric/line was:
Hunker down hairy dawgs, hunker down for a fight.
It probably was most popularized and sealed into Bulldawg canon by the late, great Larry Munson's 1982 call in the Auburn game that sealed the SEC title for the Dawgs, where he said "Hunker down, you guys! If you didn't hear me, you guys, hunker down!...I know I'm asking a lot, you guys, but hunker it down one more time!"
In reference to players specifically, if you think about football technique... generally speaking "hunkering down" would be one way of saying, "get low"... ultimately something that we see as critical on both LOS as well as most times where contact is going to be inevitable.
For fans, you could also see how the definition "hold resolutely to an opinion despite opposition or unfavorable circumstances" (*usually followed by down*) would be a beneficial thing. Keep believing. Don't give up. Not terribly dissimilar to similar rallying cries like "We believe" or anything else... Not to mention that if you consider a *player's* mental state, you want them to do the same. Keep believing that you will win the next play, the next series, the next drive... etc. Belief/Hope is a powerful drug.

These are just questions Yatesy, they won't hurt you. I know Mullen has cut you very deeply and I am just here to help. It's not your fault.

FWIW, I think it's pretty inarguable that both of those programs have very strong coaches. Additionally, Clemson has recruited at the top 2-3 of their *conference* for quite a while now, before moving into the top spot the last 2 years. UF has been sitting around 5-7 in the SEC IIRC? Slight difference. For west coast teams not in the state of California, I would take player ratings with a grain of salt in general. They get some studs at Washington that are underrated just due to less exposure. Florida and the south in general doesn't really have that problem to the same degree...
Ultimately, If Mullen shifts you all into a top 3-4 recruiting team consistently, that might be all you need if he's really as good a developer and evaluator as you all believe.

It's what I'm here for.
I might have to head to Dallas area sometime next month. Will keep you posted. I'll buy your first Bud Light... I'll see if they have an autumnal mead.

Deal. But Bud light sucks. I am way more of a connoisseur than that. Make it a Coors light.
I have a wedding in Fla the first week but I am back on the 7th.
Are we at 100 pages yet?

Mullen took a potato and made him into a serviceable SEC Quarterback, he just may be the best developer of Quarterbacks at least
Franks proved his serviceable ability when he came off the bench in the 2017 mizzou blowout. Just like trask did this year.

The only time Mullen cut me deeply is when he lost to South Alabama in his 8th season... The same year he let us give up 41 to Samford. I'll put partial blame on Peter Sirmon but it is still his job to hire the best and keep the best.
I do believe he and Grantham are perfect for each other. So you guys do have that going for you. Should be some consistency. Enough to keep you at second or 3rd in the SEC east regularly
