Holy shite, someone posted something of substance!
Congrat's to UGa, you definitely have bragging rights and this thread is proof positive you are exercising them.
I don't think there will be any doubt who talked the most shite this year. Georgia is the clear winner.

It may be in the hall of fame by the time all is said and done for best first OP on this board?
274 upvotes, 14 downvotes on a first OP that has gone on for over 2 months and almost 60 pages... That's quality work.
And you've followed it up by some rational, solid takes on the UGA board, proving that you've got some substance beyond mastering the UF troll... Welcome aboard.

I agree, shows that the Florida / Georgia rivalry is back after 30 years of Gator domination and Georgia winning 2 straight and 5 of the last 8 in convincing fashion.

So are the gators waiting for word on just one more recruit?

Not really. I am just depressed that Brian Edwards has transferred for the 3rd time this week. At last count, that is 47 transfers and 79 decommits. Pretty soon those are going to start piling up.

Was Reese suppose to play a role on that defense this year?

He was definitely LB depth and a great special teams player. It’s pretty ridiculous the amount of depth we have lost this offseason. We may need to bring in a late grad transfer or two just in case. We are the thinnest I can remember on Defense and it’s probably gonna bite us at some point. Numbers are fine on offense.

Yea with the tough schedule you all have, depth is definitely going to become an issue baring some miracle

July 11: 2018 4* OLB RFr. D Reese out for year with a torn achilles.
I can honestly say that sucks for the kid. I hope he heals up and is ready to go next year.

Not sure what you mean, but I was just saying that the rivalry has intensified again since UG has had some recent success. It was pretty boring for the last 3 decades when Spurrier, Zook, Meyer were dominating the dogs. I blame the recent swing to UG on Meyer leaving like he did, then the hiring of Muschump and McElwain. Mark my words, the pendulum is about to swing back the other way, soon.

Reminds me of LSU last season. A lot of braggadocio about steam rolling UF. And we saw how that turned out.
You do know that it was Florida fans talking about how they were going to beat UGA last season, right? Even after the game, some of your fans and even your football players were saying Florida had the better team.
Are all of you so self unaware, or is it just most of you on this board?

Well kirbys son is 9 now. So assuming he goes through an adjustment period whenever kirby first turns the program over to him, id say thats UF's window to make some noise

I think it's crazy the way things swing back and forth for long periods of time. First Georgia dominated, then Florida dominated and now....are we at the beginning of another long stretch, or will the cycle/trend be broken?

Hope he heals up, really sucks for him.
One thing about the portal and early attrition to the NFL is that it can leave you thin at positions in the long grind of an SEC season.

it's been that way in this rivalry for a long time.
-From teh series' inception up to about 1950 we thoroughly dominated.
-In the 50s and 60s UF had the decided advantage.
-The 70s and 80s were totally owned by UGA.
-Enter spurrier and meyer and from 1990- 2010 it was pretty much all UF all the time
-As soon as meyer left the worm turned. We won 3 in a row, then they won 3 in a row right back. We're now in the midst of 2 in a row but we've never looked as good in wins over the last few decades as now. Even in '97 when we won by 20, it was a small blip on the radar. 04 was close and didn't lead to much. 07 was a solid win that led to nothing. 11-13 were all close. Enter 2017, we haven't beaten them like that since the 40s and followed it up wiht another 3 TD win. We now have the same psyche that UF had the entirety of the 90s, which is going into Jax not just hoping and praying but EXPECTING to not only win but lay a beatdown. I have a feeling we're going to continue this run for a while.
