Oh, it might end up being much, much worse in the long run. Anything can happen when you have Jay "The fricking Idiot" Jacobs running your Athletic Department.

Absolutely.

Bama now has the edge over current and future AL recruits...which hurts LSU.

Despite what some fans of the SEC East may say today (e.g., UGA may now gain complete dominance over in-state recruiting), this hurts the SEC East in the long term. If Auburn falls, so does the preceived strength of the SEC.

AU's administration are panicked as badly as LSU's chicken little contingent.

While you may indeed be right, LSU's chicken little contingent has no power, thank god. (Other than total dominion of the rant)

Pretty amazing, though not totally surprising! I guess winning the previous 6 Iron Bowls, and a 82.4 winning percentage the 4 seasons prior to this one just don't mean much any more. That is truly sad.

Bama has always had the edge over Auburn in AL recruits. Even when Shula and Dumbshit Jr were coaching there. Point is, Tubby worked wonders with lesser talent than the people he coached against.

i agree not a great move but lets wait and see who they hire before its an ole miss type move.

if they go out and get a big name i think they struggle next year but bounce back fairly soon

He's just a figurehead. Bobby Lowder runs the show.

hate to say it but a strong bama helps uga cause it hurts both UT and AU, two of our biggest rivals.

Living up to the hype will help UGA's cause a lot more than a strong Bama or a weak UT/AU

True, but you can't discount the benefit of having one's rivals on the recruiting trail and field weakened.

LSU hasn't gone undefeated in the SEC in 50 years. Georgia hasn't in about 40. Florida, as good as they are now, has NEVER done it...and make no mistake, Auburn is a second fiddle school in its own state. Think Michigan State, or UCLA, even.

Tubby was a good coach.

It doesn't matter as far as UGA is concerned. They get picked every other year to win the national championship. They obviously already have the talent.

I agree with you. Just busting your balls a little. I don't mind Auburn taking a hit since Ole Miss is on the rebound. And I do think Auburn will take a hit from this.

not only that re: undefeated seasons (btw only 25yrs for uga) but i would argue that it's much harder to run the table today (9 games vs. 6 and the schol. limits) than it was 20-30-40 yrs ago.
