There’s no curse from firing Mack Brown. The curse is Texas thinking they are better than they are. Most schools go decades without winning anything and Texas is just like most schools.

You’re not arguing that SEC schools should settle for mediocrity, are you??

Maybe TCU is a good team with a coach who went to the natty

Also, is it possible that Bill has never coached a college football game [sarcastic tone]?

It was a terrible hire. Anyone that pays attention should have known Bellicheck is too old and doesn’t have the focus or drive to succeed at the college level.

You would think the UNC athletic department bigwigs would have considered that more before hiring him, wouldn’t you?

What’s additionally funny is that many UNC alums are part of the wine and cheese crowd, just like aggy (often correctly) accuses UT Austin “teasip” alums as being…

This whole Belichick / 24 year old girlfriend (who is younger than my own daughters) / getting blown out in football thing has got to be pretty embarrassing for them…

I have some UNC alumni friends who I will definitely be asking about all this…

You know how some delusional old moneyed guys can think (example: Jerry Jones.) UNC old farts convinced each other that hiring NFL legend Belichick was a big media splash hire that would quickly bring in top recruits and allow them to leapfrog over their ACC school competitors…

They got tons of media exposure all right, but probably not the type of media hype that they dreamed of, haha…

Maybe Mack doesn’t win his ONE title in 37 years without Vince.

Maybe Jimbo doesn’t win his ONE title in 28 years without Jameis Winston?

Thats why I always gave Saban, Even Dabo credit. It’s hard to win it and it’s hard to win it several times.

I actually think it’s easier to win it now. Go drop 40 million get a Caleb downs, and others and build a team and go win it.

Harder to mold high school players to be great year after year.

Yeah Saban is definitely not human

Dabbo had two great QBs though, he hasnt won a natty without a killer QB

Thats what seperates the realy good from the great, can you win a natty without legend QB like Saban did once or twice?

Bill Belichick was trash before Brady and after Brady. No one wanted him in the NFL so he thought he could come into college football like a king and show everyone how great he is but he's still trash

Right…

I admit many Texas fans are delusional too… it’s not like a coach can just waltz in and win a natty…

In over 100 football crazy years, our only other natty winning coach in addition to Mack Brown was Darrell Royal.

I don’t think Saban’s NCAA natty record will ever be broken…

Plus Bill’s been a little distracted from his UNC job, ha…

Let me ask an hinest question

If fans would have heard they had an interview with him and decide not to hire him..wouldn't their fans be insanely mad...he is considered one of the best football coaches ever..UNC football has sucked for a long time...seems like a good risk to me.

I’m not a UNC fan, but I don’t think most typical people thought that hiring NFL coach Belichick at his age with his personality and wealth as a college coach was a good idea.

This is an anecdotal example, but my son-in-law grew up in the Boston area and followed the NE Patriots for years as his favorite pro team. When he, my daughter who loves watching football, and I learned of Belichick’s hiring at UNC, we all told each other “that’s not going to work”…

Who thought it was a good idea to let a washed up 73 year old coach (with no college experience), who only won because he had to greatest qb in hirstory come coach their team.
