That damn contract was approved by the same people that are going to run the coaching search and ultimately hire a new staff.

A&M is doomed because of those people and the inability to get rid of them.

I’m not so sure we see the decommitments, I thought it was pretty well established they were there for the money and not Jimbo. If Aggie opened up the war chest to fire him, don’t you think they’ll find some extra cash to keep paying the kids? Toss in another 100mm “splash hire” to keep excitement going and I doubt they lose too much. I mean, how many interviews have there been with guys saying they just loved Jimbo and why they chose Aggie?

When Auburn fans try to have intelligent conversation at the table, you know it's time to go home.

Their starting QB is out for the year and all of their games have been competitive. The #1 recruiting class they signed is only in their sophomore year and they have another elite class lined up this season. Their future is bright from a talent standpoint and that usually translates to wins. They’re about to throw away $76 million before all of this talent becomes upperclassmen. Who do they think they’re going to get? Now this recruiting class is going to see decommitments galore and players are going to transfer out of the program in waves.

They will regret this and I suspect they will not come close to knocking on the door of being competitive for championships in the league again with Texas and Oklahoma joining. They weren’t that far away and could’ve won the West this year if Weigman didn’t get injured.

Yeah I think it's really weird timing because they have been competitive this year. Probably the closest Jimbo has come to winning other than 2020. But don't talk common sense. Let them make an emotional decision that costs them over 100 million dollars and they will still be medicore with their next coach. Aggies just need to learn what their place is and that's always being 2nd tier.

You have to understand the Aggies obsession at being better than Texas to really understand this move. There is no amount of money they won't spend to try to stay ahead of Texas. To be fair if the shoe was on the other foot we would probably do the same thing.

I'll let you know when we give a shite about what a fan from a school that hired Hugh Freeze again as a head coach thinks.

You guys only wish you could get a coach of Hugh Freeze's caliber. Dude can flat out coach. Once he gets some players there Auburn will be very good.
Can't believe I just defended Auburn

Pay the old head coach his buyout.
Pay the new head coach a buyout of his current contract.
Pay the new head coach comparable money to what Jimbo was making (high end contract).

And give a Pay raise to 40 current players and 25 recruits?

Are you Bernie Sanders? You spend imaginary other people's money like a wizard.

Guess it's just rich people problems. If i was that rich I wouldn't be throwing my money at a college football team.

Don’t have a knee jerk reaction when your starting QB is out for the year.

This isn’t his first year. And it’s not the first time he’s lost a starting QB. Part of the job is conditioning so these guys don’t keep getting hurt and it’s also to have a decent backup plan for said QB.

We've thrown a lot of stupid money a bad coaches since Mack left. Granted is not the ridiculous money that the Aggies are spending but we don't have a lot of room to talk. I'm still not convinced we found the guy that can get us there in the SEC I just don't see it from sark. Guy has no idea how to put teams away.

Ego is a hell of a drug.

But it’s more than Ego. At the highest level it’s about influence, politics, and networking.

In Texas, if you are going to play the big game, CFB is the best venue.

You idiots didn’t think we could fire him. He’s reached his ceiling at A&M, so time to try again …

As evidenced by my post history, I’m not a fan of A&M. I’m also not retarded and accept the truth, they have frick you money. They didn’t make this move without having enough to blank check the next coach. So there’s let’s say a minimum of 150mm accounted for. Now you don’t think they could scrounge up a few million to top off the players? These aren’t fricking NFL contracts you dolt, it wouldn’t take more than a few million total. I personally know multiple Aggies who could write that check themselves.
