If changing the words make you feel better, make them all the same.

What was Alabama's numbers before Saban?
They were not penalized much under Shula, either.

So the link in the OP has the least penalized teams from 2000 to 2012. Anyone else notice that no Bama teams from 2000 to 2006 made the list? If officials and the SEC Office just love Bama and conspire to help Bama win games, then why weren't they helping Bama from 2000 to 2006?

Neither did Saban's teams from LSU

No, it has the least penalties per game average since 2012, there is a difference.
ETA. I not one for conspiracies BTW

You posted a link to a scout.com message board as a source?
Really?
You see, there's an interesting thing about statistics. They can be manipulated to give impressions depending on one's desires.
Take 2012 for example. I think his numbers are actually just a bit off. I have Alabama with 50 penalties and the opponents at 64. Pretty bad, right?
Well, to quote Paul Harvey, let's hear the rest of the story.
We'll start by just looking at conference games. In those 9 matchups, Alabama was flagged for 38 penalties. Their opponents were flagged for 39.
OMG ALABAMA GOT A 1 PENALTY ADVANTAGE! LAUNCH A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION!!!!!
It gets even better.
Alabama was penalized more than their opponent in 5 of the 9 games and even in the other. In those games, Alabama's penalty margin was -16.
So who were the three that had more penalties than Alabama?
LSU (7-1)
Auburn (8-2)
Georgia (7-2)
Well, that nails it I guess. Looks bad.
Know what else looks bad? For the season:
LSU committed 23 more penalties than their opponents, were the most penalized team in 8 of the 12 games, and was flagged for 8 or more penalties 6 times.
UGA committed more penalties than their opponent in every single game except one (Vandy). They a committed 31 more penalties than their opponents for the season.
Auburn committed more penalties than their opponent in 9 games, were even in two, and committed fewer in one - LSU. I guess we could call that the undisciplined bowl. They committed a total of 25 more penalties for the year than their opponents.
Alabama doesn't get the breaks. Y'all just suck.
Here's a tip. Quit cherry picking numbers in an attempt to make lame arse excuses for your team's undisciplined play and simply accept the fact that Bama (and most of the rest of the conference) does a better job of avoiding stupid mistakes that lose games.
Edited to add: I didn't use a message board. I actually looked up the numbers here.
Nice work. You basically eviscerated the op and all the little girls clinging to their "it's the refs fault Alabama is dominating college football" mantra.
However, they will ignore it and continue on hoping that if they repeat the BS enough, people will believe it.

Benefits of having the SEC office in Birmingham.

That's true. So there is evidence to suggest that neither Bama nor Saban coached teams get preferential treatment from officials.

You mean how I used committed and then flagged in the same sentence when describing LSU in 2012?
Nice try at deflection, but my choice of words does not alter the numbers one bit. The OP's assertion and the link upon which it is based are nothing more than the rantings of fanbases looking to create excuses for their team's failures.

Thanks. It took all of 10 minutes and one sheet of notebook paper. Amazing that the OP and his followers couldn't do it.
I know they'll ignore it, but we've got two new teams in the league. I don't want them to fall into the trap too.

Alabama's glory shines so bright that the referees have trouble seeing anything.

Come on, guys... we know that if LSU finished 1st in 5 of the last 6 years in fewest # of penalties called, and Miles' (or LSU) teams had never shown those kinds of numbers before, and the SEC was headquartered in New Orleans, and dominated by a bunch of LSU fans/grads, that Bama fans would be saying, "Wow, LSU is a really disciplined team. Wish we could be like that."

Are all of you Gumps this dumb? Can't you see that in the BIG games, Bama gets special treatment since they do not need it in others? You think the powers that be in the SEC are dumb enough to BLATANTLY favor them in ALL games? Wow, you guys need to wake up. As another poster said, if the roles were reversed, you bastards would all be up in arms.
Face it, the SEC is corrupt and protects its interests. It has done it for other teams besides Bama (Florida, anyone, remember Ark several years back?).

So Nick Saban was a horrible coach at LSU, solely on the fact that Louisiana only produces undisciplined thugs, and at Alabama they have the good guys that do no wrong? Oh, ok.
