It's not just the style. MA has proven he can win. He has been to the elite 8 with mizzou and took a conference USA team to the sweet 16. This is the guy that can lead us back to the promised land.

I am not disagreeing with you about his ability. I just think its time to let it go. People need to move on, Anderson has. I really think it will go down like this...
1. Offer Dixon until he threatens a TRO
2. Offer Cuonzo or Buzz Williams if they both balk, one of them takes the job, then go after Crean.
3. Make sure that the people in Arkansas understand he WANTS to be here, dont hide anything in process.
4. Make the new guy be seen with people from the past, as a passing of torch (invite Sutton, Nolan, Moncrief, Boot, Klien, etc to the PC)
ETA:
Make sure he knows how to call the hogs also (see Altman and Heath on how NOT to do it)

I know one thing. Last week Long started to change his tune. He didn't say Pel is our man like he has the past two season, but he said "we will re-evaluate the program after the season"

I don't have a problem with letting it go if MA doesn't want to come to Arkansas. But I think there is at least a chance that he does and, IMO, he is the best coach we could get. If he is offered the job and declines, that's fine.

If we can't get MA then my vote for the next phone call would definitely be Cuonzo. He is proving he can flat out coach at MSU and is doing great at recruiting outside of the state for a school that traditionally only recruits locally.
With that being said, we had better damn well throw the bank at MA before we even dare move on to someone else.

I think Cuonzo is doing a better job than coach ever did at SMS. I just think we got a great recruiting class the year we got a Mr Basketball from Indiana and the Little Lord. But Sam was the key to our success, IMO. But coach was still the best shooter on campus, I loved playing against him after px, except when one of my student mgrs would start talking shite to him...then he would start spotting at John making the net rip.

I'm afraid you're right.
Our fans need to grow up and realize 40 minutes of hell is dead and learn the stinking game. We need a coach who will develop players that can exploit another team's weakness, and play either full or half court sets to do so. Yes, be opportunistic but also be disciplined and controlled.
