Ron Polk’s post-Easter lunch turd could have taken the 2021 MSU team to Omaha and won it.

He had the most loaded team ever in 85 and choked like the loser he was. Couldn't win the SEC after the 80s once Bertman and the rest of the SEC surpassed him, and people are still dumb enough to think he was good.

This is all well and good but still doesn’t change the fact that Lemonis is not very good.

But I thought all of our donors were putting NIL money towards baseball, and that was why we couldn’t compete in football recruiting

I haven’t heard a single person claim this at all.

Lemonis won a natty and I appreciate that from him, but you’re wrong.

Lemonis can’t hold Polks jock when it comes to coaching. Polk was a consistent winner, with several SEC championships and CWS appearances. To win the CWS takes not only talent but a streak of luck and unfortunately Polk never got it. Dave Van Horn at Arkansas is similar and nobody would claim Lemonis is a better coach than DVH.

Lemonis is the Gene Chizik of baseball

False. The year after title was the worst, we improved the next two seasons but taking a step back this year

I was being facetious. The only people I’ve heard say things like that are the same ones who were drunkenly standing at the urinal in Davis Wade wanting to bring Mullen back after Arnett

Polk vs Lemonis aside, what is the consensus of what needs to be done moving forward?

If it is to move on from Lemonis; then who are realistic targets? Who are unlikely/homerun targets?

If it is to stick with Lemonis; then what does he need to achieve in a 2-3 year timeframe?

No doubt Lemon needs to go.

IF we can recover and make postseason and somehow win a regional I say give him one more year.

Failure to make a regional he needs to be fired. What’s frustrating is we have talent, we have had leads in several games and blew it due to errors. And that’s on coaching. Our stats are actually good, most areas statistically are top half of the SEC yet our record is terrible

Wow! As a Mizzou fans I would be happy to have him at Mizzou.
By the way Ole Miss just got another running back from the portal. Might it be Kiffin needs 3 headed RB to win in the SEC.

This is a ridiculous approach. A lot of people take really good teams to Omaha and don’t win. However the dude has got to go.

I just remember quite a few key players that fell from the Cannizaro tree and Lemonis hasn’t come close to replicating that.

They also would have been on the first train out of Starkville if the Cannizaro situation happened today.

What SEC Titles? After the 80s he won ZERO.

Couldnt win the Titles when no one else cared about Baseball. And when actual good coaches like Bertman came around, he folded. While all our morons bragged about things like "he's saving baseball" or we "created the grove tailgate in the lounge".

Polk got lucky with an easy job that Paul Gregory gave him. Its no wonder why no one but UAB would allow him around to be an unpaid assistant. Shouldve removed his name off the stadium when he begged.

But no we should just worship Polk and hire Tommy Raffo next time. He was the guy!

He is a good coach but not great.

The word great keeps being used and abused on the rant.

I didn't like him even in the championship year. Should have been fired 3 years ago. Tired of saying it on here. Anything short of a Super is just not enough.

I wouldn't trade a coach that just won a title recently with coaches that had better seasons but never got over the hump.
