I didn't say academically elite schools couldn't be successful, but that it is one of many factors keeoing Vanderbilt from being successful. Stanford isn't really that successful of a football program either. Their best years were with Harbuagh and that just so coincided with USC'S worst years.
Notre is academically elite and has a long history of great football, as is the case with Duke.
The problem with Duke is I want to see how they play after coach K retires/loses his touch.
