That would explain it.

But Alabama is not Clemson-good.

Clemson wasn't Alabama-good in 2017. Alabama wasn't Clemson-good in 2018. Clemson lost a good chunk of their defensive line. They will take a step back this year and Alabama will be about the same as they were in 2018, perhaps even a little better.

Had not Clemson pulled out the 2016 game with no time left on the clock they would be 3&1 the last 4 years. They didn't even make the finals year before last, and as we know, Alabama is the only team in the nation to make the playoffs every single year.

Since 2008, Alabama is 79-9 against the SEC. That's nine losses is 11 seasons.

Bama dug themselves into a hole, can't blame Clemson for taking advantage of it. Defense was always flawed but redzone offense was a disgrace.

It is sad to think Clemson has now left everyone in the SECs in their dust.. The fact the Finebaum has been spending the last week propping up Bama and Saban is more proof. The Saban come on his chin is starting to crust over , Bama better win it all this year or Paul will be back in Birmingham on a AM station next year.

Moral victories and all, but LSU gives Alabama the most physical matchup of all the teams year in and year out. Offense is lagging behind for sure, but Bama absolutely circles us every year

Nah -- Bama is in decline. Georgia about to get over the hump. A&M, LSU, and Florida are getting better.

Finebaum was right ... three or four years ago.

4 years ago it was this, and Alabama was the underdog for the first time since 2008:
