Hey Irons, was it even a part of the investigation, or was it just the players’ complaints and those of the assistant coaches that left the program?

So your theory is that Auburn is sticking their neck out for a coach they have cause to fire and that most want to see gone… because they just love living in this shitstorm? Brilliant theory!

No dumbass. They could be sticking their neck out if later these allegations are proven to be true. So, my guess is they looked under every rock to find the truth.

It had to be investigated, but that is where it was generated. Everyone wanted to blame the PTB, but they were an afterthought to once the ball got rolling. Today, inaction is much more expensive than action.

Surprised Harsin didn't take the money and run away from that program.

You're going into work everyday knowing that everyone wants you gone. I feel for the dude.

I sincerely believe the Clesi thing was a calculated effort to poison the well so that even if the substantive investigation turned up nothing Auburn would still likely move on because we'd so badly damaged the relationship.

Of course, an attractive assistant moving across the country raises questions, but it also has the advantage of low hanging fruit for someone trying to get a rumor started.

I believe it was the typical resentment you see from disgruntled employees that you would see at any company in the country. Those rumors happen all the time and become locker room fodder. I think that is what happened here.

So why did they make up a rule in the middle of the investigation if they had looked under every rock? No dumbass. They changed the rule because they wanted to force Harsin to show them what was under a bunch of rocks he didn't need to flip over for them. They tried to create cause by making a new rule up that they knew Harsin would violate. He called their bluff and the more intelligent people at auburn warned them that they can't create cause that way. Harsin's lawyers would have eaten them alive. Auburn gets to hide behind plausible deniability because Harsin didn't cooperate fully with their investigation. I am very sorry you cannot quite grasp what is obvious to everyone else happened but that is what it is. I could hold your hand through this but I think you are just walking in circles so I give up with you. And on a personal note, being such an unbearable biotch is not a good look for you.

It wasn't targeted toward Harsin. The University wanted to emphasize to all employees within the AD the need for cooperation. It just made a great story if the Press and the internet claimed it was toward Harsin. Like any investigation, you find damning evidence before you go to the accused to have them defended it. Harsin was on vacation when AU made that statement and he did not have to defend anything.

I'm happy to take credit for REC power, real or imagined, but we don't have anything to do with Finebaum or this Auburn crap show.

Not saying Harsin won’t be fired one day, but Finebaum has always been ignorant to the sport as a whole. Loud mouth is all he is.

Nobody is given credit to REC. Finebaum is indebted to some Bama boosters over the years, otherwise he would have never got his show syndicated and later picked up by the SECN. He was always a source of information for what those people wanted to put out. It continues to this day. He also was fed a lot of information that people at the SEC Office (Womack) wanted disseminated.

Are you saying AU has evidence of this because that is ridiculous. They would have fired him for cause if they knew this to be rid of him, his contract, and further liability on their part.

"He's there to stay."

Are you serious?

Why?

.

Didn't come close to saying that. What I said is they were obligated to investigate those claims. Which they did.

He found the map in the back of a desk drawer showing where all the bodies are buried and none of the PTB want that information made public.

You are just so completely adorable that you that really believe that new "cooperation rule" wasn't targeted toward Harsin. Your unbridled naivete is so cute I could just eat you up. That has to be the funniest thing I have seen today. Thanks you.

Everyone's eventual dismissal is "inevitable." You could say this about literally every person in every job.

1. There is no way there wasn't an existing policy. It may have been updated but no large institution has no similar policy.

2. New policy or not, Harsin's contract already had similar verbiage.

Harsin sucks as a coach and a recruiter. Look at all the blown leads he had with Gus Top 10 classes (on paper).
