Texas RBs would have had 55 yards on 26 carries.

Pretty sure it is 61 yards on 32 carries. That comes out to 1.9 ypc. (I fat fingered my earlier numbers, but should have double checked.)

ESPN Boxscore

I took both teams best runs away and one carry. You can double check, but I am pretty sure I got it.

Not a single Texas fan was afraid whenever a gump RB would get handed the ball.

If that was the case, then I can assure you no Alabama fans were afraid to see Bijan Robinson with the ball in his hands.

Taking away his best run of 18 yards leaves him with 39 yards on 20 carries.

I came up with my stats with all runs.

quote:

Alabama easily had Bryce Young superhero scramble more effectively but their "running game" was shut down.

Then Texas' was shut down more effectively.

They hardly ran the damn thing because they couldn't!

They hardly ran the ball because Alabama was a pass first team. I mean, they have been airing it out for several years now.

Maybe Texas should have tried throwing the ball more. They might have won.

Bud, no one blows bama out. If you win it’s by a last min fg or td

Lil bro that is tagging along catching Bama at a very opportune time with the Qb transition.

Bama 30

Texas 14

I did RBs vs your all runs, because I don't consider non designed QB runs as a part of a running game.

You're adding in our backup QBs rushing yards which would also include sacks too, so even if you count QB scrambles you probably shouldn't include sacks.

I agree that Texas's running game was ineffective and worse than Bamas. My own numbers proved that.

They ran the ball plenty when it was their best option. It was effective when BY went down vs Arkansas, A&M. BY wasn't lighting us up or anything, but he was still a far better option than trying to run it vs us.

We were plenty fine throwing it all over their garbage secondary when Ewers was in the game

This game is going to great on this board, no matter what happens.

Bama, by a significant margin.

I get that and it is a legit way to do it. I just don't know how to tell if it is a designed run or a broken play from the boxscore, and I am too lazy to dig too deep. It was not meant to be catty when I underlined "all". I was just not wanting it to be missed that I was counting what might have been a broken play.

That was in the boxscore, so if that is the way ESPN reported it, then you are correct. One reason I think it is a legit way to count is because if the QB had broken it for a 20 yard run then it would be counted, too.

Hey, usually I skip over your posts because I think you do nothing but troll. But you can actually have a great and interesting conversation. Thanks for that!

Alabama's secondary has not been very good the last couple of years. (Georgia has struggled at times there, too) If Ewers settles down and and becomes more consistent, Texas can make a lot of noise this year. You have a solid roster. I can't wait for your game with Alabama. That one and the LSU/FSU games are my "must watch" games early in the season.
