It is what it is. If a Mizzou player did this I would be embarrassed and if he had a picture of the incident on his twitter feed, even though he apologized, I would accept the very likely scenario that he really wasn't sorry and the coaching staff moved to force him to become "contrite" about the inccident and hope that he learned his lesson regardless through the coaching staff in the future.
The thing you refuse to see is the very nature of the picture discredits the young man's apology, not posters on a message board.

Once again...let us, as you are doing, assume it is his feed.
Lets assume it wasn't an Alabama player or the deed was done to an Alabama player. You like many others in this thread with an A next to their name would have had a meltdown.
Anything a 'Bama player does or a fan does like Updyke or the teabagger is jut fine and acceptable in the Tide fan's mind.

lol, had Tyrann Mathieu had a picture of his hit on Dre Kirkpatrick on his Twitter account last year, the Gumps would of been shitting bricks.

I am not defending his actions... only the petty criticism of his apology. Can you remember any other SEC player ever publically apologizing to another?

Does not matter.
Did he all of a sudden feel sorry about it all on his own and decided to write an apology letter without being told to by Saban? If he was sorry about the hit it would never have sniffed his twitter feed.
It sure as hell does matter.
You guys are making it out like he wrote the letter then posted the picture "bragging" about the hit - which sure as shite does show a lack of remorse and conveniently fits your side of the argument.
However, you don't know that to be fact, so don't act like it is.

Pretty sound criticism given the facts.

This, however, is a credit to Saban and the program and does show class.

If Fanning were to send your RB some roses in a nice vase with chocolates would that count as a "genuine" apology?
Nah. It would still be a crappy and extremely dangerous move that should net him a worthless one game suspension, as he isn't even a starter.
There's no way I would want one of our players treated that way. It's football. There are rules.

exactly. class, pure unadulterated class. that's all we're saying.

You should call another radio show about it. You and Updike have that in common.

Ok, so somewhere between him putting up the picture, thinking it was an awesome play and today, thinking it was something serious enough to warrant a written apology. He became remorseful all on his own and went to Coach Saban and asked if he could write a letter to Hansbrough and Pinkel?

Frick that was a great tackle, everyone laughed their arse off when GMac was suplexed in the Auburn game 2010. I like mean sob on defense.

Saban showed some class.
Fanning...not so much.

WHO cares, it's football.
And you are seriously butthurt over it.

Not really but its been fun to fish for some gumps for a while.

strongly disagree. fanning apologizing and taking the pic, which looked pretty cool IMO, down off of twitter was pretty classy. gotta give credit where credits due.

When it's your kid who gets his neck broken over something like that, write us back and let us know whose butthurt.

Apology or not, he still needs to be suspended. But being he is an Alabama player, that will not happen.

Does it matter what events had to occur to teach this young man remorse?
Maybe he got an earful from Saban yesterday? Maybe he watched the broadcast and got to hear Gary/Verne talking about how dangerous it was? Who knows. He's just a friggen kid, mentally.
It's not like he was a seasoned JR like Brandon Spikes was when he maliciously tried to jab someones eyeballs out through their facemask.
This kid just graduated HS and has a lot to learn. He got excited in the middle of a play and made a bad decision.
Now we've got armchair goons arguing online for hours trying to discredit the young man's effort at doing something good after he made a mistake.
