Alabama Offense in the big game on Monday night.
How many of the above drive-stalling penalties did they commit during the course of the game?

I don't recall any. I think the number is zero.
Anybody remember anything else?
What about Clemson's Offense? Anybody remember?

I think both Alabama and Clemson's numbers are zero. That is very commendable and a good lesson for other teams who aspire to Greatness.

I know Clemson was called for one false start. Killed one of their drives.

UA had 2 pass interference penalties. That was it.

Also a couple holds on D Jackson.

That were declined.
Clemson had a nasty facemask on Henry. Dude had no intention of turning loose.

How many did they commit, or how many did the refs call?
Those are two different questions.

Well, the reason why I set the parameters with a certain set of penalties is because I wanted to isolate penalties on the Offense for what are pure mental mistakes. I wanted to exclude all penalties that involve a subjective judgment, such as Holding on an O Lineman and PI.
So, of these two great teams, there was only ONE SINGLE penalty of the three I mentioned in the thread title? That is outstanding. No pre-snap mental mistakes on your Offense for the entire game is Outstanding. One penalty is Excellent.
Great lesson for all of the other SEC West teams that aspire to win the SEC -- you can't do it if your offense makes a habit of committing a few of these pre-snap mental errors per game. It can't be done with that kind of mediocre, Plush Toy coaching.

Were any timeouts called to prevent delay of the game?

Seems Bama's offense committed a bunch of negative plays throughout this whole season.
Thank goodness for Bama's big play abilities.

We had to blow a couple of timeouts to avoid getting hit with delay of game penalties. For some reason we had trouble getting the play called and the offense set a lot this season. Don't know if Kiff couldn't decide what to do or if Nick was overriding what Kiff wanted to run.

The game was pretty fairly called. I believe the refs got it right. The clock runoff before half was the only time in the game that something went awry. Don't think that changed outcome of the game though.

What I don't understand is that Shaq continually lined up in neutral zone. Only called twice. The first pass interference called on Bama, was a pic play. Bama called for defensive pass interference and not offensive.

And he was doing it again like 2 plays after being flagged for it. I don't get them not calling that consistently. Seems like an easy flag for the head line or line judge to call.
