Nobody called Iowa St or Ole Miss elite programs.

Ok fine, if you want to die on this hill, FSU was a much better program than either of those two schools and much more equipped to win immediately than either.

O took over one of the most talented rosters in the country. I don't know about Auburn pre-Chizik but FSU became a dumpster fire Bowden's last few seasons there. Jimbo built up arguably the most talented team of all time from scratch.

Interesting that no one gives Ed O this excuse.

So give Ed O a mulligan this year. Got it.

from scratch? FSU had plenty of talent when he got there and he was the HCIW for three years on the FSU staff before he became the head coach. Do you think Bobby Bowden was doing the heavy lifting in recruitng those last few years?

You are just trying to move the goal posts. I never said a word about comparing the schools or whatever it is you are talking about.

I simply pointed out in my first post of this thread that it was wrong to blame Jimbo for what happened at FSU after he left. What happened at FSU is 100% on those who replaced him.

He took over what had become an average program that was sinking in the recruiting ranks for years and improved them. And he certainly left the program in better shape than what he got.

FSU hired a shitty coach after and that's all there is to it.

Jimbo left FSU the 5th most talented roster in the country. Hmm...

I guess it's wonder how he managed to go 5-6 his last year there with all that talent right?

Maybe but FSU's AD at the time threw Jimbo under the bus saying that he did not recruit well in his last couple of years. Usually don't see an AD publicly trash a former coach like that

ADs take the high ground if they're any good at what they do.

I think in Fla State's case, they didn't want to keep spending the money and resources required to stay relevant, and manufactured some excuses to blame it all on Jimbo.
Fans almost always see through that line of shite.

FSU fans are even worse than UF fans were about blaming everything on Urban. "That damn Jimbo!"

How am I moving the goal posts? Use whatever adjective you want to use to describe the programs. The point was always which jobs were better situations when each respective coach took over.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. And if you really took such issue with calling FSU an elite program, then you're clearly more concerned arguing semantics instead of the very obvious point others have made in comparing the three programs when each took over

Good to know. So Saban deserves zero credit for anything that has occured at LSU since he left.

As others have pointed out, Orgeron wasn't given the benefit of the doubt on that last year. Hmm, maybe there's a point to be made there. Go figure

Orgeron didn't lose Myles Brennan in week 3 (along with 18 starters from the 2019 team)? You sure about that bud?

Wonder why you're ignoring the part about Jimbo's kid for some mysterious reason. Hmm...
