Im just confused as to why you all flipped from Music City Bowl to the Gator bowl. Sauces said it was your school's preferred bowl destination till last minute

I'm not sure your sauces are right. The Gator Bowl told us early on that they wanted us if we got bowl eligible and I know most fans would rather go there than to exotic Nashville which is a great place but basically home. The MCB also wanted us and the MCB has always drawn big crowds from both UT and UK (their biggest crowds have been from UT and UK). However, the city of Nashville makes more money from a UK bid because more of your fans will stay overnight or longer while most of ours will drive in for the game and go directly home afterwards.
Similarly, with a larger football fanbase, the Gator Bowl knows we will bring a ton to Jacksonville.
Local Radio has been saying Gator Bowl for months whereas MCB only entered the picture afterwards so I don't know where those sauces are getting that it was our preference to stay home.
***EDIT: I didn't realize you got the Belk bowl instead of MCB. That's odd. You should've forced Louisville out of it.

Sauces are per ksr and a couple other places. They could be wrong, not like places don't regularly get it wrong with other stuff like coaching searches
They didn't give it to us for 2 reasons:
1. Louisville, as you mentioned (I agree they shoulda forced em out but reason 2 makes that option unavailable anyway)
2. Bowl committees/SEC don't want teams going to the same bowl game within 2 years if possible. So, if we hadn't been to the MCB 2 years ago, we'd be there. Sadly as a result of this rule and the Louisville deal, State got involved in the shuffle
