You call that good clock management??? He threw a deep pass that was caught with one second left and it was luckily caught. If the DB would have been able to tip it away, the clock likely would have run out

You were saying?

ETA: I see someone already displayed your ignorance.

Is there any way for this issue to die? Miles clock management against Ole Miss in 09 and Tennessee in 2010 was horrible. But not against Auburn. 1) That was all Flynn if you watch the game - play came in w more than :40 left, 2) the clock would not have run out, the clock would not have run out, and the clock would not have run out. ONLY if someone had tipped the ball straight up 50 feet and the ball then hit the ground.

You have no idea wtf you're talking about here runt. Byrd caught the ball with 4 seconds left. If it was tipped we'd still have 2 seconds left.

Or he could of called timeout and had 20 secs or kicked a field goal and won it

Who does the witchcraft or voodoo? Miles, the fans or a player on the team?

So, are you trying to say that all those calls for his head in '09 and '10 won't rear their ugly heads again if LSU were to loose more than two games, expecially if it's on a poorly managed game clock?

what does this have to do with you claiming he'll be fired after he just got an extension?

The PosiTigers mention it all the time - it's your Nega's that bring down Miles.

No need. That dude couldn't cover Byrd all night and yet Tubbs STILL put him one on one.

1. Flynn took way too long to call the play

2. It would've been a 40 yarder from the hashmarks with a struggling kicker...not a chip shot like you guys make it out to be.

Then someone explain to me where was the Miles blind "miracle luck" against:
Tennessee in '05, Auburn in '06, Kentucky and Arkansas in '07, Alabama and Arkansas in '08, Penn State in '09, Auburn and Arkansas in '10 ???????

Also, why is it that Miles is not given ANY credit for his late-game clock management skills in LSU victories? e.g. Auburn and Florida in '05,
Tennessee in '06, Auburn and Florida in '07,
Auburn and Arkansas in '08, Florida, Alabama, and
Ole Miss in '10 ??????
He managed the clock and got game-winning drives in just about all of those, converting 4th downs, etc.
Nobody ever mentions those though.

If what you listed is not "luck" of "fluky" then I do not want to hear one more LSU fan claim that Mallett to Hamilton both times last year were fluke plays.

the end

You do realize that LSU lost to Bama in '08 right?

In OT. Had to tie it up in regulation. Don't blame miles for JL throwing an INT in the endzone.

Agreed, but when you have that much time left and a timeout, you should at least use it. Every other coach would have.

It was rulled a TD with .01 left on the clock If he would TO before could have had a chance at more plays if a first down was made on 4th

Dude,
Flynn went up to the line with 16 seconds left, LET FOUR SECONDS RUN OFF, """""then""""" snapped the ball.
Byrd """""CAUGHT""""" the pass with """""FOUR"""" seconds left. The stadium clock operator first let the clock run out, then notified the officials, who put """""TWO""""" seconds """BACK""" on the clock.

If you remember, Aubies, LSU """"""""""""""""""""""""""DID"""""""""""""""""""""""""" kick-off to Auburn after that TD.

It's just sour grapes because it was a PERFECTLY EXECUTED PASS AND PLAY, (other than Flynn mysteriously letting 4 seconds run off before he snapped the ball), and a PERFECTLY THROWN ball that was going to be either dropped or caught.

The Auburn DB was behind Byrd, the ball was thrown to the back end line of the end zone. If Byrd had dropped the ball, there still would have been 2 seconds left to kick the FG.

Guess what though? It also didn't allow y'all to substitute or call a safety defense and stuck y'all in a man situation. Face it, The Hat got you there.

Not even, but when you start with .40 seconds and a timeout, All you have to do is score, you are on the 22. most coaches would use the timeout. To give you a chance at another play or two.

If you think he managed the clock correctly, you are delusional

.40 seconds to run one play, what if he did not catch it. You guys would be bitching like crazy

23 yard line + 7 yard snap + 10 yard endzone = 40 yard FG.
