I don't have a problem with people who attended the school saying "we" when referencing the team. To me, it's really no different than saying "we" when talking about the company you work for to an outsider. You are part of that university once you graduate.
However, it does crack me up when people that didn't attend the school refer to it as "we."
If you can't quickly tell me how to get to Kimpel from Reid then you probably shouldn't be referring to Arkansas as "we".

I always say we when referring to State. I graduated there, I watch every game, and I attend multiple games of each of the major sports, home and away. But it does bother me when people use it that barely know anything about the team. I hate when girls say we when talking about the saints. And yes I am a huge douche.

My friend was talking shite about Auburn after Auburn beat Clemson and using "we." Then I go to the bar and another friend is saying "we" taking about LSU beating state. I simply asked them how many players they could name on the team. Conversation over.

If "we" would have loss to a division 2 team and Vandy then I probably would not use "we" when talking about my football team but "WE" just beat Fla in the Swamp and "WE" are ranked so I am proud to use "we" when alking about the School I root for.

If you don't say "we" when talking about your favorite team, good for you. If you do say "we" when talking about your favorite team, good for you. Bottomline, the only douches in this situation are the people who have a problem with someone from the other group so dont be a count.

I know a guy who does this for every school that offered him a tennis scholarship;
even though he actually played at Idaho.....
He sticks with Mich State until they lose a game or two, then he becomes an Oregon fan.
