Musselman to Louisville

Will Arky pony up $9mm to keep "Musselmeh"? Durr. Better go lasso up some Wal-Mart and Tyson money Arky because Musselman is leaving the station.

Muss isn’t going to Louisville. This is Arkansas basketball program, not some also ran.

I love Muss but I hope we don’t give him a lifetime contract. Something about that seems weird or too much in a who knows what can happen way- unless there’s a divorce clause or something.

These coaches using Louisville for a pay raise is a great move.

Realistically, ain’t nobody busting down the door to go to Louisville - where they essentially don’t have a President or AD currently. Pearl wasn’t going to do it, and Mussleman ain’t gonna do it. That’d be pretty dumb to go somewhere you literally wouldn’t know who your boss is.

I've never even heard of razorbackers.com so solid source there and lol at Muss leaving for Louisville. Good to know we are on the brain of the #1 teams fans.

Louisville was interested in Oates before losing to 5-14 UGA

Aren't they still under Federal investigation also?

I’m sure Muss is looking to leave the #2 (still has a shot at #1) recruiting class.

Not really sure what’s so funny…

Louisville started their program in 1912 and Arkansas in 1924…

National Titles
Louisville: 1980, 1986
Arkansas: 1994

Final Fours
Louisville: 8
Arkansas: 6

Elite Eights
Louisville: 11
Arkansas: 11

Conference Championships:
Arkansas: 24
Louisville: 21

All Time Win Pct.
Louisville: .652
Arkansas: .640

All Time Wins:
Louisville: 1,759
Arkansas: 1,748

There’s been pretty much no real mention of Musselman, Oats, or Wade here in Louisville.

It’s going to likely be Kenny Payne or Kevin Willard. Someone with UofL ties.

They should probably follow what IU just did…hire an energetic guy with school ties that cares. At least get the thing turned around then hire a proven coach in 4-5 years.

I like the Kenny Payne angle…and they’re talking about him on Game Day now.

I think Payne is really appealing to them and checks a lot of boxes (there’s also been an undercurrent of an African-American hire from former UofL players like Butch Beard). It’s just a matter of them having the patience with whomever takes it because Mack completely lost the team and they still have NCAA shite coming.

Some want Cronin but he’s in a good spot at UCLA and isn’t about to give that up for a potential probation program.

Some of the current players want them to keep interim Pegues. But I don’t see that happening unless they just hit rock bottom of their search.

I honestly hope they win out so they somehow keep Pegues. It’d be gut wrenching if they were to get KP and then get Dj Wagner

He turned down Arizona last year so I doubt he leaves for Louisville

Any relation to Ralph Willard? His son I would imagine. I have a high school friend that played for (Ralph) Willard at WKU.

Yep, his son at Seton Hall. Was on Pitino’s staff for a bit.

Exactly. Both programs are comparable to each other. You made it sound like they are New Jersey tech.

Right?

Maybe they pull off some miracle against Duke.
