ESPN to broadcast A&M-LSU in upscaled 4K, but not on their own app

I guess they do this for select games during the season, and it’s a big deal that they chose this game.
You can see it on all kinds of streaming services and cable providers.
Just not on their own shitty app.
It boggles my mind how they can do so many things so well, but their native apps are like some intern is trying to figure out functionalities that the rest of the industry has standardized on.

Every primetime ABC game should be in 4k. Its a disgrace that big noon kickoff has this while we get 720 or 1080 with a scoreboard that takes up half the screen

There is usually 1 ESPN/ABC 4K game a week. FOX usually has 1-2 and NBC's game (either B1G or Notre Dame) is in 4K.
DirectTV just has 2-3 4K channels that show whatever the available 4K options are. Almost no apps offer live advanced streaming (so not one camera on YouTube) in 4K in the US other than Netflix for very few things.
Alabama/Tennessee and Alabama/Georgia were 4K. And even though it's apparently just upscaled or whatever the picture is incredible. Much better than Fox's CFB 4K (their playoff baseball 4K has been awesome).

They have been showing the 630 ABC game in upscaled 4K/HDR all season long
