Only 2 of the 5 are from the 2000s. Mayfield, Newton, and Burrow are 2010s

Joe Burrow and Cam were great and I love Mac Jones, but those guys just had one spectacular season.

joe had a great junior season and led his team to a Fiesta bowl win.

But I agree on Mac and Cam

He was benched in 2004 because he was playing so shitty. But yeah it was a great 8 yard run.

1. Tebow
2. Burrow
3. Cam
4. Young
5. Mac

Burrow was incredible in 2019 but he was also surrounded by a very talented roster of players as we have seen by their performance in the NFL this past season. Cam Newton was the Auburn football team in 2010 and single-handedly led them to a national championship.

Agreed. If this list is going by career and not just single-season performances, Tebow should be #1. He was a Heisman finalist all three seasons he started, led Florida to a national championship in one season, and came very close to doing it back-to-back. Vince Young had one spectacular season and that was it.

Not sure there. Burrow had a better passing season, sure. But Cam Newton I am fairly sure played that entire season with an offensive group of guys that collectively started ONE career game in the NFL. He literally was a one-man wrecking crew.

Article is behind a paywall but here is the top 5

1. Baker Mayfield

You just listed the 2 best reasons imaginable to not post a piece of crap and yet you acknowledge the stupidity and then proceed to post it.

If this is a career ranking, then this list is terrible (also: it is a terrible single-season ranking as well). For career, it is Tebow with everyone else just little specks in his rear view. No one can come close to matching his career performance. For single season, it is Newton, Young, Burrow, Tebow, and Jones, not necessarily in that order, although Jones would probably get 5 simply because he did not win the Heisman.

The hate for Baker here is unwarranted. He finished 4th, 3rd and 1st in the Heisman his three years at Oklahoma. Only one close to those accomplishments is Tebow who went 1st, 3rd and 5th.
Baker
Tebow
Borrow
Cam

If it’s best season
Burrow
Cam

Everyone else

1. Mac Jones

2. Who cares.

Seriously, I'd put Tebow on top. Vince Young is as overrated as that Texas/USC national championship game.

And by the way... there's only ONE qb walking around with 3 NC rings from that era...AJ McCarron. Not saying he was the greatest QB, but in the end it's all about championships.

How many NCs did Mayfield lead his team to? I'll hang up and listen.

List is crap but for different reasons. Jones has an argument for best single season breaking the all time single season completion percentage, but he only had 17 starts in his college career.

One of less than 3 players ever to throw for 3000 yards in 4 seasons. I doubt there are 39 qbs in the last 20 years better.

AJ McCarron has 2 rings (well 3 actually, but started for two). Had the highest qbr one of those years, and I am pretty sure he has more wins than anybody else on this list. And probably the hottest wife too.
