I think OM has to win 5 of 6.

Not only are there only 3 teams, two are low seeds. If this held true, would this be the worst SEC representation in the tournament since the tournament began?

In 2009 the SEC had LSU (8), Tennessee (9) and Miss State (13).

People are being too hard on OM. If they were to only lose one more reg season game and then win in the quarters of the SECT and lost in the Semis I think they'd be a 6-7 seed. A pretty bad one but still.

If others are being too hard, you are being too generous. Ole Miss is projected as an 11 right now and they don't have much left to give them a bump unless they beat Florida or Missouri in the tournament. Their RPI is only 53 right now so if they lose another regular season game combined with wins over some HORRIBLE RPI teams, and that number would not get any better. I think there is very little chance Ole Miss gets a 6-7 seed under your scenario or any other scenario short of winning out including the tournament.

I think if y'all lose to us, you're in trouble.

That's it? Wow, that is horrible. Didn't realize 2009 was that bad.

You think if OM finishes 6-2 then they have no chance at a 7 seed? They'd have 25 wins and a 40ish RPI. Seems about right to me. I agree for a 6 seed and maybe a 7 seed one of those six wins would have to be mizzou or florida but they'll be no worse than a 9 seed if they can finish the season 6-2. Their problem is the eye test lately. They'll have to work on that for a decent seed.

Yep. Because the only good win out of that bunch would be Alabama and maybe one team in the SEC tourney. That's not enough to bump them from a projected 10-11 to a 6-7.

If they finish 6-2 I don't think their RPI would be much better than it is right now and right now they are projected much lower.

Plus a "40ish" RPI would be a long shot for a 6/7 seed anyway.

I don't think we get in... Our half court defense blows... Kennedy loves our 2-3 zone even though it's one of the worst in all of college basketball... We CAN NOT lose to AU, MSU, aTm or USCe.. If we go 4-2 but one of our losses is to a team I just listed we will have to make a run to the SEC tourney final... And that would put us as one of the last 4 in imho.

And even though there was no team in 2009 as good as Florida this year, the conference actually had better RPI and SOS numbers then than it does this year.

Mizzou really needs a big win tonight to get their seeding headed in the right direction. If they can win tonight and parlay that into a win at Kentucky then they'll be lookin good again. They can't afford to go 0-2 this week.

Of course 16-10 Villanova is in even though Bama beat them on a neautral site by 22.

This rigging of the system is what the Yanks want to do with a " Football committee "

Same place they've always been. How's UNC doing this year BTW?

I think we see two teams, three at the max. Florida for sure. Then either Mizzou/Ole Miss. Alabama possibly squeaks in there with a strong finish to the schedule.

Even though I don't really think that Bama has a beef (even if Villanova gets in) and I don't think it matters much when there are 68 teams, I do think the small selection committee in college football is a TERRIBLE idea for this very reason. It will introduce more bias into the system than there already is.

So? If you used head to head to determine the field you'd go in circles until the end of time.
