I'm not sure why you're starting an argument between Alabama and Arkansas in the first place. I'm simply arguing why Bama definitely gets in with a 9-7 SEC record and probably gets in with a 8-8 SEC record.
Since you started the pissing contest I'll play along. Alabama has beaten 2 of you losses as well and has a nice road/neutral win over Wichita State. Alabama also have fewer bad losses (1 @ USCe as opposed to at least 3 for Arky @ Oklahoma, Houston, @ LSU). Alabama has an RPI of #33 with the #15 SOS while Arkansas has an RPI of 60 with the #63 SOS.
Additionally, KenPom has Alabama at # 20 and Arky at # 93. Sagarin has Alabama at #22 and Arky at #83.
All of these ratings reflect the one inarguable fact. Arky is 17-0 at Bud Walton but has not won a single road game. RPI gives you 0.6 for a home win and 1.4 for a road win. Combine that with a mediocre strength of schedule and every objective measure prefers the Tide. Every measure except your "eye" test.

For Christ sake Southern Miss. is #11 in the RPI (#56 in KenPom). Ole miss comes in at a whopping 111 in the KenPom ratings, 109 in the LRMC. and 99th in the Saragin ratings. Repeat after me Ole Miss is a terrible basketball team.

By default... I think going by SEC standings we're still sitting at # 3. No we're not playing like the 3rd best team in conference. We have a decent chance of losing the next 5 games.

Our best shot blocker transferred. A veteran on the blocks in SEC play. Our best outside shooter transferred. A veteran in SEC play.
Our best big gone for the season early in the year. Now the team is down to 9 scholarship players. Mid season, one of our big contributors Waithe goes down with calf injury. Down to 8 scholly players.
We've beaten Michigan, State, Vandy at home this year. Anderson some how has this team in the hunt for an NCAA bid with a limited squad, 4 freshman, 3 sophomores, 1 junior, 1 walk on, 1 football player, and Sanchise, who is out now.
Hell of a coaching job by MA in his first year.

And please tell me which one of Bama's road wins was a marquee win? I'll wait... I will admit you have less bad losses, but you also have less quality wins than Arkansas. Our wins over Vandy, State and Mich trump the holy hell out of anything you've done thus far. And you cannot use head to head until both games are played. SoS means shite to me when you don't beat any of them. If that were the case then all ACC teams should be automatics to the tourney.
