So? Gotta name it something.
The bigger issue is that she sucks at being a journalist, which is bad because that's her job.

If this biatch of a reporter is making all this story up, then she should be locked up for a LONG time.

quote:I don't think she made it all up. Hell, if you read it closely, there isn't much substance to it to begin with. Where she failed was: (1) in writing a sloppy article regardless of the accuracy of the content; (2) drawing substantial conclusions off of meager quotes; (3) apparently failing to confirm the accuracy of the information from her sources; and (4) providing a suspect in a felony case a platform a week prior to his trial without very much vetting.

The journalism was poor. The story's accuracy is still to be determined. Which again, evidences the poor journalism.
ETA: With respect to the tapes, I don't think she would claim to have tapes without having any. I just suspect that the unedited content in the tapes wouldn't add any or much credibility to the story she wrote.

I've been saying from the get go, this lady has no tapes or will not release what she has because they do not corroborate her story.

I think she has tapes of talking to Mike and his family.

I suspect most of her tapes are of her conversations with McNeil. I also suspect the tapes would provide a context for some of the comments that the article intentionally avoids.
For example,
For example,
quote:. I would be interested to know the context of that quote. The article insinuates that Thorpe was talking about how Auburn operates with disregard to the NCAA rules. I doubt that was the actual context.
Auburn does whatever Auburn wants,” says Thorpe.

EVEN IF SHE HAS tapes of the players accounts of the story, there still isn't any actual EVIDENCE that wrong-doing happened.
I would say that if there WERE tapes and the stories the players said were totally different because they were lying... all that would do is give the NCAA legitimate reason to go actually conduct an investigation.

This stupid count should just shut her fricking mouth and act as if she never wrote the blog. I can't believe big news sources, like ESPN, actually believe half the stuff they put out there. It's quite obvious they took everything from the blog as their own. I saw a headline this morning on there that made it sound like Auburn was already proven to have changed grades. Everything they report is bogus.

It's just a way to shite on the University. That's all.

it doesn't matter if the reports are true or not. they can't put auburn in a worse place than they currently are. Hopefully the ncaa sees how bad of shape auburn is in and does something to protect them from saban

The no teeth thread is a way better one than this.. can we get an anchor up in this bitch?

So was Draconian Sanctions trolling, or has he revealed his "INSIDER" information yet?

I agree with what you said and why I maintain the tapes will never be heard because they will not fully corroborate her story.
Posted on 4/4/13 at 2:10 pm to m2pro
I agree, but the actual story itself does not sound like typical grade changing as we think about it. McNeil earned a B in coursework but was set to make an F due to attendance... Was the F actually posted? Did they go through due process to get the adjusted score? It's not as if actual tests scores were manipulated.
