I've been a defender of Antlers in the past. But the list posted here and on the Mizzou board has put me in the "no thanks" column. Tell them to get it together.

get funnier. The list of stuff y'all yelled is boring as shite.
That list represents maybe 2% of what was said they said at those games. That was just the stuff their narc thought was offensive enough to include on the list. I talked with people who were there, and they had to have planted someone right next to the group, because a lot of that stuff was just said from Antler to Antler, like, "what do you think about this one?" not yelled or chanted.

1). If they're checking with each other to see it "farts when he cums" is a good idea for a chant, they would probably be better off shooting themselves in the face.
2). When you're on restrictions, don't Frick up and mock an injured player. With AIDs jokes.
This shite was inexcusable. They need to get it together. They're not going to get any widespread support from the fanbase. So they need to recognize where the problem lies. And it's not the administration.

Is this the PD sofa? If so, hands-down best poster on that site.

there are so many worse things happening on any college campus... the things the antlers do are relatively petty. they are not hurting anyone.

Sure did. Two of them. In fact, I've spent my entire career on a college campus. My opinion is that a university the caliber of Missouri, a member of the AAU, doesn't need that sort of crap on their campus. Will it happen? No. But its my opinion that it should. If you want to quell it, start expulsion proceedings against a couple of the leaders. It clearly falls under conduct defaming of the academic environment.
Jeez, and Mogray thought I was a bore.

I can't speak to the context of each individual thing on the list, and I agree, "Farts when he cums" is not something I would have chanted if I were there. However, all of the changes the AD asked them to make were met at the past two games. Both of the chants that got them kicked out were chants that they have been doing for over 20 years, the AD knows about, and were still not on the list. Two Antlers at the first game they were kicked out, were late arrivals, showed up after the group had already been kicked out, were nabbed at the turnstiles and escorted out. This, after they were kicked out for a chant that goes, "Scum Scum Scum, go back to where you're from and DIE!!!" as the other team runs onto the court. Except, they changed the last word from "die" to "cry" as the AD wanted, and were still kicked out.

I grew up with the Antlers of the 1980s and 1990s...in that regard the whole idea of asking the Antlers as a group to "get it together" is sorta funny. They are what they are. Mizzou has allowed exactly this type of stuff to go on at its basketball games since the 1970s.
Yes, there are individual comments that are more over the line than others, and that's what everyone is trying to get them to reign in. But the bottom line of the Antlers has ALWAYS been that they pretty much have no lines whatsoever. If they did, they'd be some other regular student group. How do you police/self-regulate a group whose identifying characteristic is to push every envelope and cross every line in search of distractions to mess with opposing team's heads. It would be like asking the writers of South Park to go in and really examine which parts of their show might be offensive to some elements of society or not. That'd be a lost cause from the get go, and this may be as well.

I'm not taking my 7-year-old to a basketball game to hear that garbage. And no one else should have to be subjected to it. If a random fan yelled those things on a regular basis, they'd be kicked out. And as an organization, they have the appearance of university approval, even if that's not correct. I'm done making excuses for these jackanapes.

I agree they need to clean some of the shite up 808. But I also think the administration is reaching a bit too. Little bit of a witch hunt going on. All sides need to step back, take a deep breath, and just work towards how to co-exist instead of going on as they are now.

Chanting the name of a coach's dead daughter isn't hurting anyone? What about the coach and his wife that is likely sitting behind him?
I know there are much worse things happening, and those need to be taken care of as well. The "everyone needs to go to college" generation has made this happen.
When I was an undergraduate in the mid 90s, my roommate got mad at a guy and called and left him a voice mail that called him a "****" and that he needed to leave college and go home.
Childish, right? He was expelled and arrested. Today, that wouldn't get a letter home from an elementary school teacher.

But I don't need a fan group mocking a sick mom or a dead daughter to help win a game. They enjoy some seating privileges as a result of their group status. If they can't figure out where avant garde crosses to offensive, they don't deserve the seats.

Just do what you do man. Do y'all cross the line some times? Yep. Do y'all need to get reigned in from time to time? Yep. But if that wasn't the case, you'd never know where that line is. Doesn't mean I like or approve of Katrina jokes or chanting a dead child's name, but I also realize that only represents .01% of what you guys do. Y'all otherwise make Mizzou Arena a hostile environment for opposing teams.
Jesus, some of you are just shitty people. Forget about sports, you are fricking pathetic.
