Say he wins 8 games next year, does aTm secure him for ten years with a 12M a year contract?

Hiring a Duke HC worked out well for us. Unless A&M is just cursed.

Spurrier didn't inherit a strong program built by David Cutcliff

Duke went 5-7, 2-9, and 3-9 in Cutcliffe's last 3 years there.

It’s good for bringing in someone for stability, but it’s impossible to know if he will get them to where they want to be

A head coach with a two-year sample size is hard to judge.

Put it this way, if Elko never coached at A&M, would he have been offered the job?

Duke had gone 3-9 for two straight seasons when Elko took over

Interesting question but you really ought to stick with speculation with 4-6 win seasons.

As an Arky fan… 4-6 wins is routinely in your wheelhouse. Stick to what you know and understand.

Probably not. One of the things Elko brings to the table is his past knowledge of what is right and what needs to be fixed. He was only gone for two seasons. For instance, his first day on the job he fires three assistant coaches.

For a program that’s 1 win better, you sure are quick to throw shite at someone else.
From the outside in, I’d rather be an Arkansas fan any day over aTm. At least it’s not ghey

Honestly, I think the Elko hire is a good one. Stoops would have also been a good one.

One question for Aggy fans. I thought you guys were going after the Arizona coach. Did he interview? He's doing a pretty good job at Arizona so it's only a matter of time before somebody grabs him.

Pure speculation on message boards. No one really knew anything TBH. Arizona coach seemed solid.

It could have been Elko all along. He was the one discussed widely much earlier in the season before Jimbo was fired. He was doing great before their QB got hurt.

A lot of our defensive talent was recruited and signed by Elko. He is a good hire in my opinion.

All we know is that is was a very fluid situation with multiple candidates being involved. And it sounds like Fisch was very much in the mix until the end.

Aggie obviously nailed their top target. They can buy whatever they want after all. Elmo was it all along. Stoops was the smokescreen so no one could swoop in at the last minute and scoop up Elmo.

You realize BP was at Arkansas before A&M, right? Aggies took Arkansas’ table scraps if anything.

Dumb Aggie.

I'm good with that. Fisch appears to be doing a pretty good job. Much better than "awe shucks" has been doing.
