UT = Tennessee

Sip = Short for Mississippi, which is Ole Miss
(This one applies more for A&M fans)

Team that runs the conference = Alabama
because the SEC office is here:

The only way to settle this dispute is via an unbiased third party with no dog in the fight. Google “UT logo” using a private browser and lmk what comes up

Wrong again!

TU is Tulane. Former SEC member:

The SEC member the earliest wins. New members have to make a choice distinguishing themselves for those already members.

Thus Tennessee retains their UT

I suggest Texas use UTa to distinguish them from the REAL UT

WTF, Google has nothing to do with it. They're a founding member of the SEC, pledge. And screw you for making me take up for them

Careful with the pledge talk, Aggies are strongly anti-FSL

But here, to actually settle this bullshite.

In 1986 the University of Tennessee and the University of Texas agreed to share the well-known interlocking “UT” trademark that both schools use. Tennessee applied for registration of the trademark for the sale of jewelry, paper, metal and leather goods, as well as printed matter, housewares, glassware, and clothing. Texas owned registration of the trademark for educational and entertainment goods. Tennessee’s and Texas’s trademarks are different but similar enough to cause confusion to manufacturers, who have used them interchangeably in the past. The agreement gave Texas commercial rights to the trademark west of the Mississippi River and Tennessee the rights east of the Mississippi and in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana (home of LSU).

Tl/dr: Texas owned the logo and allowed Tennessee to borrow it in good faith

You should have put a NSFW after this. A bunch of dildo pics came up when I typed that in.

Any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king. Same goes for this insistence on who the "real" UT is.

Nah, that's aggy-esque idiocy. "Texas" is fine.

Besides Tulane is not really relevant to the SEC. They have not been members since before most people on this board were born

U of Tennessee was founded almost 100 years before U of Texas.

Matter of fact, U of Tennessee was founded before Texas was a state.

Tennessee is UT, sure, whatever. We’ll be Texas and that’s fine with us.

Exactly this.

Their insecurity over the question will still compel these threads though.

I like how dildos wasn't sufficient so you had to put your own extra gay imagery in there. You sure you're not an aggy?
