Oh really. So refs giving u win last year is a good thing. So if you won in jumbos first year and then LSU wins in a blow out in most resent game that’s considered closing the gap. Ok!

Actually this past year was Ed’s third year as head coach. First year intern.

As a Has-Been, Jimbo is better.

As a present day HC, Orgeron is far better.

Let's shift that perspective some.

SEC WEST RECORDS (at their current stop obviously).

Ed O in 3.67 years:
40-9 overall record
27-7 conference record
1 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Jimbo Fisher in 2 years:
17-9 overall record
9-7 conference record

You’re totes correct. O’s first 3 years of ever being a HC at fricking Ole Miss are exactly the same as Jimbo taking over A&M. The programs are about on the same level so I get where you’re coming from I guess.

I forgot he coached that dad arse program. LSU wasn’t in great shape when he took over. less kind of left cupboard bare as far as the big uglies . We had playmakers all over the field

Um, the question I was answering, kohai, was posted as follows:

And Jimbo has done exactly WHAT as an SEC head coach??

Now, unless I’m wrong, SBC’s tenure “as an SEC head coach” started with Mississippi in 2005.

Or, are we now moving the goal posts?

Who's better? In the here and now?

They went head-to-head about 6 weeks ago. Orgeron's team won 50 to 7.

I'd go Ed.

For all of their supposed money and the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas, Jimbo needs to win 23 straight to get to O's record. And A&M, for all of Sumlin's mistakes, wasn't some barren wasteland when Jimbo took over as head coach.

Not so fast....

I happen to believe Jimbo is a solid football coach.... BUT, here’s the kicker... He is coaching in an environment that is loaded with mediocrity.

Think about this... Out of the six active CFB head coaches with a National Championship, three of them won their first title at LSU.

aTm- That one time in the 30’s.

It just isn’t a place with a winning culture. Real shame based off of the revenue, facilities, and talent rich location of the university.
