Not a bad year for Ole Miss. win your bowl and you probably finish ranked in the 22-24 range
Would be nice to see them overachieve for once.
You mean like last year? When we finished no. 11 in both polls, played in the Sugar Bowl, and only lost to ranked teams? Were we predicted to do that well? I can't remember.

You forgot UGA. Lost 15 to the draft, including five first rounders on defense if you haven't heard.

PLease explain to me how Ole miss is in a "rebuilding year" in year 3 under Kiffin?!?
LSU fans are the worst at following other teams besides LSU. Did you even pay attention this off-season?
We lost OC & DC. QB to the NFL. Both starting RBs to NFL. 3rd string RB followed old RB coach to Miami. Best 2 LBs went to the NFL. Best DE to the NFL.
Not making excuses because we should have won the egg bowl and should have at least played better in Fayetteville. 9-3 should have been the finish. I’ll take disappointed to finish 8-4 all day. We had a shot to beat bama and LSU. Kiffin is close if he can add some depth at WR, OL, & DL this off-season. We are a lot closer to competing for the west than State, Arkansas, A&M, and Auburn.

I'd argue the offenses underperformed.
I’d argue Ole Miss played too safe and should have let Dart throw the damn ball down the field. Like we had anything to lose by playing like pussies.

Florida and LSU should never be in a rebuilding mode.
When coaches like Mullen and O just mail it in, you get rebuilding years. Georgia fans should know this. One bad coaching choice can kill any program or keep it from achieving at the highest level

Rebuild =/= 17 transfers in 2022
Rebuild has connotations of starting from scratch, meaning through recruiting HS players. Signing 17 transfers is more indicative of a mindset to win at all costs this year.

It says there's a lot of roster turnover whether it be through transfer, leaving for NFL, or graduating. Then you add coordinator, strength coach, RB coach turnover.
Rebuild is putting it mildly. Hopefully he can shore up some weak spots in the offseason

State was more likely to score from the one (was actually a TD then a horrible spot) and put the game away than OM put it away with a field goal.

I agree. Not sure why OM didn't try some long passes, at least to the non-Forbes side of the field. I was thankful that Kiffin didn't try.

And weeks before the Egg Bowl your fans were pretty cocky. Most on here tried to remind your fans that you had not played anyone and that the back end of your schedule would bring you down to earth. Rebuilding year my arse.
You have selective reading. There were plenty of rebs, including myself, who knew the beginning of the season was a farce.
We struggled with UK (lucky as hell to win), struggled with vandy, struggled with auburn, and struggled with A&M.
I know there are plenty of insufferable OM fans, but every fanbase has them.
This was a rebuilding year for OM. Whether you want to believe it or not, it's the truth.
My guess is, you don't want to admit that your prized win was over a rebuilding rival.

This. That was definitely a TD. Complete BS for the people saying we "should have beat state".
It was a competitive game but you guys won straight up.

Everything is different now. Including the term rebuilding. I think a more indicative signal of a win at all costs this year mindset would be getting a post grad QB.
Dart is a Freshman.

Isn’t it technically a rebuilding year for every team every year?

Sure. That's why the term "rebuilding year" is relative.

State should have won Egg Bowl 31-16. They took away a TD and we coughed the ball up on the nail-in-the-coffin drive at your 1yd line

I think it was a "rebuilding year" for Ole Miss. But Kiffin did a great job getting Evans through the portal and a stud Freshman in Judkins...both impacting the offense immediately.
Yes, the Egg Bowl win is the prized win of the year. What was Ole Miss' "prized win" of their season? The Kentucky win that you stated and we all know were lucky as hell to win?? 3-pt win vs A&M?
Kiffin and Ole Miss know if they want to take the next step, then they have to get some studs in the trenches. Ole Miss was pushed around against LSU, Arky, and State.
Kiffin should have thrown the ball more downfield over the top in the Egg Bowl. Why he didn't do that...I don't know. State's defense won them the game. Ole Miss' 3-FGs in the first-half may be a combination of good defense and questionable play-calling.
If you would have told me before the game that Will Rogers would have 3 turnovers in the Egg Bowl I would have said that Ole Miss wins by at least 20pts.
What is the "real" Ole Miss? The team that beats up GA Tech, Vandy, Auburn?
Or the team that gets physically dominated by Arky, LSU, and State?
State wins the Egg Bowl...it's our prized win of the season. We finished above in the SEC standings even having to play UGA while the Rebels played Vandy. And get to gloat for another 12months. Hopefully Ole Miss is out of their "rebuilding" mode next season.
Hail State.

That's kind of been my whole point. Yes, you guys can crow to us all you want - but it's not that great of an accomplishment

I think it's pretty simple. We beat the teams we were better than, and we lost to the teams we were worse than.

Didn’t kiffin say the portal, not recruiting, would be his focus? Seems to me, given that, every year will be a rebuilding year.
