Durability is sort of the point of a great RB, no?

All I know, is that even though Herschel gave his most productive years to the USFL, and everyone seems to think his NFL career wasn't that great, he is still among the top 10 all time All Purpose Yards leader board. Jackson didn't even make it to his 5th year.

And as for not being as great an athlete as Bo? Ah, I would have to also deny that point. As mentioned before, he was a track star, an Olympian, and was still willing to start a new blood sport on at least the semi-professional level at 40+.

And, finally, let's put it this way, in the Heisman House, it ain't Bo Jackson the rest of the great athletes fear and respect.

It's not weak at all. 3 seasons erased from history because he didn't play in the primary professional league but in a different professional league. He was a damn fine NFL player as was. Had he gotten even close to the 5400 yards he had in the USFL in the NFL he would have had some pretty beastly stats.

Dude if I tore it up in the XFL and failed to match it when I moved to the NFL, saying my XFL career should be given credit toward my NFL legacy is laughable.

how so? Bo split carries, where HW received the bulk of the carries by far. Bo averaged more per carry

If he was really so great, he wouldn't have been splitting carries.

Bo had more tall tales about him. That is awesome and all, but Herschel never lost an SEC game. Herschel ran for more yards in 3 seasons than Bo did in 4 seasons. Herschel won a national title. Herschel's worst finish in Heisman voting was 3rd. Herschel accounted for over 100% of UGA's offense in the national title game vs. Notre Dame

You read that right, Herschel ran for 150 and due to some sacks and other losses, UGA had fewer than 150 yards.

Bo is more well known due to being a two-sport star. I'll concede he is a better athlete, but there is no debate who the better running back is.

Is he really though? Had HW played baseball, he would have been as good at it as he was at RB. He was bigger, stronger, and faster (4.1 my arse). Also, when was Bo in the Olympics? Look at Herschel and Bo today, how can someone so fragile be considered by so many to be a better athlete than HW, who at still looks like he is carved from stone at 50? Homerism, that's how.

Bo is a better athlete than HW like a grenade is a better weapon than a MP5.

AU fans are the only fanbase delusional enough to think Jackson belongs on the same page as Walker.

Walker by many is considered the greatest college football player of all time. It's that simple.

No. This isn't even a discussion anymore. Herschel is far and away the better RB. Athlete? We can debate. Bo might be in the RB discussion if he weren't made of porcelain.

wow, I never looked at the stats and I'm so surprised Bo had that many less carries than Herschel

even if Herschel would have been able to play his senior year, if Bo was given the same amount of carries as Walker he would easily outgain him in yards and TD's.

I will say this, Bo Jackson is only 1 person, Herschel Walker is 2. I'd say that puts Bo at an unfair advantage.

Bo > Herschel.

Assuming he would have been able to hold up to the abuse. And looking at the rest of his career, it is safe to say that would be unlikely.

Dealing with that many carries isn't easy, as you guys saw with Lattimore.

Ole Miss - 3-8
Vandy - 2-9

Yeah, look at those Monsters of the NCAA the blessed Herschel mowed over in that fabulous 1980 season!

Great job winning those 3 games against teams with winning records!

Goddamn what a weak schedule..

LSU 2007 > UGA 1980

Well over half the teams with a losing record.
