I said this before that Doug Moreaux should be the next SEC Commissioner. I might have misspelled his name in my earlier post.

So when MSU said no to the money , Cecil would have sent Cam to MSU, correct?

Just following the great "idea" of defense

He was probably speaking tongue in cheek given that there aren't many defenses available to Cecil if he did participate in "discussions." What else is Cecil going to say, short of "I plead guilty."

Moreau is sharp cookie. He retired by choice. He was elected DA, then judge, then DA again.

Think before posting.

actually his comments on the Cam scandal were very eye opening. He has spent a lifetime in the legal system and knows all about the angles lawyers take to try and skate the truth.

I probably shouldn't have said a GREAT defense in the thread title because Doug wasn't implying that it was a strong defense. He was just saying that these are the types of arguments lawyers come up with to try and get clients off.

Good clarification, because if he had indicated it was a strong defense, I would have thought he was being sarcastic. As DA and judge he has seen pretty much all of it. As I noted, Cecil's choices are limited, Doug's suggestion may be the only one he has, and it ain't good.

...and if this was going to go in front of a jury it might work...who knows...

But in front of the NCAA it will end with "I asked them for money"...cause after that its over.

He said that Cecil can say that he wanted Cam to go to an upstanding university and he asked MSU for money, just to see if they were a clean program.

Except that's still soliciting, which is a NCAA violation.
