ANY fan/etc of schools called bama, Georgia, Texas should forever STFU.
Should have stopped Nick Saban who b(r)ought multi-millions to every team he ever coached and passed the $30 million threshold with 2008 bama recruiting class. Rush Propst was absolutely on target with the SEC criminal programs that were getting away with RICO level THEFT
THAT is what killed college athletics. 10 years later his school of assistants, boyKirby, Kiffin, Sarkasian were all over college ball for 10's of millions.
There was no other choice but to bring million dollar college players out of the Saban closet, Texas' Lamborghini fest, etc
A bama fan declaring million dollar players - - "morons!" is laughable -- moron is the OP.
PUKE!

Ok dude. Alabama probably doesn’t have 30 million now, certainly not in 2008. You are actually retarded, aren’t you? What fan base do you belong to that Bama dominated?

They do not know how little the amount of brain cells they have left. Like a withering flower decaying from its peak existence so too Bama fans will be gone once "roll tide" tshirts stop hitting the clearance racks.

It's the communist state of California that you should blame.

That's an NFL rule that has nothing to do with college.
That's right and if you believe the NCAA wasn't at the table when the NFL and later players union came up with that rule you're a rube.

That said, collectives, fans, and boosters behind the independent NIL deals will eventually smarten up and place clauses on the NIL deals to protect their interests and deter players from taking their money and transferring to another school.
What makes you think those clauses don't currently exist in many deals?

We look at the NCAA completely wrong. The NCAA is the schools
Exactly the schools presidents empower the ncaa. The presidents could have realized everyone was getting rich except the most important part of the equation, the players. Instead they created and maintained an illegal market for 100 years. The schools and ncaa deserve everything that’s coming at them.

They could have gotten ahead of the issue but the schools wanted to keep everything. So they let it reach critical mass and then it got blown up. They had every chance in the world to release some pressure on the powder keg but they didn't.

It is the NCAA’s fault, when the O’Bannon lawsuit first happened, it should have occurred to the NCAA just how wrong they were to not let players make money, especially when they knew that under the table payments were happening all over the place. This was all going to be inevitable and they should’ve been day one ready to deal with this.
Bingo. But video games was a no brainer. Should’ve seen that coming from a mile away. That was what O’Bannon focused on as its too easy.

I never said they didn't, but I'd expect them to become common place and more restrictive as a deterrent. Otherwise, what will the incentive be for the entity investing in a player to come to their university, which again, is against the intent of original NIL, but is certainly happening.

I think we are in agreement here with the possible minor exception that I think they are likely quite commonplace already for precisely the reason you state in your post.

YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG..........Those libs in the NCAA office was in on this BS. All they had to do is advise the colleges to say, we will be giving not further scholarships from now on, and the outcry from these minority athletes and their families would have made the lawyers who JUDGE SHOPPED back down in 5 minutes.
They should still do it, I will not watch any more college sports its a joke and so the suckers who watch are just watching a bunch of guy who could care less about an education in most cases.

Don't want players to get paid? Then stop treating college sports as a business. It's that simple.

Blame the greedy University Presidents who gave themselves raises after leveraging the sports programs(mainly cfb).
