Who said LSU was on probation in the 90's? I didn't. I just said that their program was down, as was OU's at that time. It happens. We were rotten during the bulk of the 2000's.
If you consider
'10: 11 win season
'11: 13 win season
'12: 10 win season
'13: 10 win season
'14 8 win season
as being down then wouldn't A&M still qualify as rotten?

THIS...1000X THIS.
Take a look at the realignment threads on LINK (LandTheives) and you will notice that most prefer the Pac12 over the SEC anyway.

Unless you are proposing two perm rivals Bama fans would melt about such an arrangement.
Bama is A&M's best friend in all this realignment stuff because it pretty much ensures no powerhouse team (which due to geography would be OU or Texas) gets added to the West as that would unbalance that division and force a Bama or Auburn division shift.
Realignment is the rivalry killer, but as long as Bama values rivalries (and Bama runs the league) then Westward expansion is off the table.

Texas, OU, Okie State, TTech should have moved to Pac 12 when they had the chance.
Texas and Oklahoma are now screwed.

Annihilated by Baylor IN NORMAN, barely beat a Texas team that couldn't get more than 59 offensive yards against Arkansas.
If you include TCU in that mix, Oklahoma went 5-5 against their prime competitors for Texas talent over that timespan.

OU would love SEC money. They committed to an ambitious stadium project that would've rivaled A&M's Kyle Field redo and had to scale back because finances weren't there.. That was embarrassing.
You are underselling it.
Their project raised less than HALF the money they intended to raise, which was HALF the money we spent on Kyle.
We Ronald Reaganed the shite out of them and its awesome. The will be a Nebraska in ten years.

WeeWee: please reread my post! I said that LSU was down in the 90's not the 2000's. As we all know, LSU had quite a good decade in the 2000's. And as I stated, we (TAMU) was quite rotten during the 2000's.
Reading is your friend.

I was reffering to LSU. LSU had one bad year but is no where near down.

For the gazillionth time, I said LSU was down in the 90's, not the 2000's. You also alluded that I said LSU was on probation. I never said that either.
Do you simply just not read other people's posts before you type some random reply?
Let me spell this out for you:
1). Both LSU and OU had a down decade in the 1990's. Both LSU and OU had a really good decade in the 2000's. This means that they were not down post the Stoops and Saben hires.
2). TAMU was down for much of the decade of the 2000's.

I see 0% chance of that happening. Mizzou and the B1G are not on friendly terms, and by all accounts are fat and happy in the SEC. There would be nothing to gain by the move and it would put Mizzou in a bad light.
I wouldn't say 0%...but my scenario also relies upon the Big 12 imploding. My scenario would be a "mutual benefit" type deal with the SEC having to take Okie State with Oklahoma while the BIG gets Missouri without the negative press
quote:
I suspect the B1G would be afraid to even make an offer. Mizzou would reject it and leak it to some key media to make the B1G look bad.
Yeah, I don't think the BIG would offer without chatter of SEC wanting to take more teams.

The SEC isn't taking two schools from a state with a population of less than 4 million. Okie State and OU both to the SEC will never happen.
Imagine how much $$$ the SEC would make if it had 3 additional flagship schools from say OK, NC, and VA, instead of secondary schools from TN, AL, and MS. This isn't a shot at Auburn, Ms St, or Vandy; It's just the way today's CFB revenue system works. The SEC isn't going to punch itself in the face by taking two teams from a small state.

Not sure if you are trying to be funny or just don't know?
VPI = Virginia Polytechnic Institute
While most may refer to it as Va Tech it is not the preferred and correct name. The same way I may call Duke , dook or UL. Line Beards is the same way as someone saying Va Tech to someone who actually went there.

No law, but T Boone would cause hell for OU politically in the capital. OU is a public university, and relies on some state money.
