Can they coach defense?

Actually, LSU had 3 losses when we won in 2001 knocking Tenn out of the Rose Bowl for the Nat Championship.

UGA won the SEC with two losses in 2005. So it’s 3 times not 1

Maybe he is fixing it, maybe he will fail to do so in his unfamiliar role as a HC. I can’t predict the future…apparently you are Nostradumbass

“ Never faced this level of competition”
In 1971 the Big 8 finished the season with teams ranked #1 #2 and #3

That should be helpful to your team in 2024.
In 2022 the Big 12 rep in the NC lost by 58 points to the SEC Champ, that same year TCU beat OU 55-24 and Texas 17-10.
Now is 2022 relevant to 2024? Not very, but certainly more than 1971.

So they can but simply haven’t at OU?

2001 and 2005 were both outside of the "eighteen year" window I specified in my post.
The reason I used 2006 as my marker is the fact that that was the year that the SEC champion started to win the national championship consistently. The SEC had only one championship in the six year period from 2000-2005.
I think the evidence is pretty clear that over a long period of time... the rest of the conference isn't getting very many wins against the best two teams in the conference on a yearly basis.
As I was able to demonstrate...those two division champions have been going have routinely been going 14-2 or better against the rest of the league pretty much every year for going on two decades.

Like I said, is he just not coaching it now? Weren’t you bragging about being more talented than everyone in the Big 12 and SEC earlier? 49th?

Congratulations. You keep reeling them in.

Also can’t take teams on the decline too lightly. Bama can win on any given Saturday.

Mizzou and A&M did just fine when they joined and were mids in the Big 12.
Texas high school football is elite, a 3 star from Texas is a 4 star in another small state.
OU & UT will be fine. They’ll just have to adjust their schemes.

You got your shot at the Tide when we were clueless on how to set Jalen Milroe free. Even then BAMA had 2 TDs called back that would have won the game for us. This was nowhere close to the same BAMA team that beat Georgia, won the SEC, and made the playoffs.
I was there.
We kicked your asses up and down the field, both sides of the line. In your house.
You reek of fear.

It's the physical toll that every single game takes on you in the SEC. Even teams that can't beat you can definitely beat on you.
If you do not have lineman 3 deep who are talented enough to start anywhere you are behind the curve in the SEC. The arse kicking that goes on in the trenches in the SEC when Vandy plays Mississippi State is slightly more brutal than what goes on elsewhere when to tier teams play. There are 8 weeks of that arse kicking. It takes its toll. High level recruiting is the foundation. Quality depth and player development is the secret sauce. These 3 simple ingredients is what Nick Saban perfected. It is unlikely to be duplicated to that level again BUT UGA and Alabama both have the fixings currently, UGA still has the chef in the kitchen and time will tell if Alabama does....everyone else is still playing catch up. This is how the 5 SEC teams have won 13(?) of the last 20 national championships....high level recruiting (OU and UT have that covered) quality depth and player development....OU and UT are lacking in those areas and the proof is in their performance in meaningful games in the post season.
Both have the resources to get there and most likely will. It is doubtful either is there currently. High level recruiting is not a question...is depth and development. The grind of playing against teams with multiple NFL prospects week in and week out is tough.
