Funny hearing Aubs joking about a passing game.

Not nearly as funny as Bama fans talking about Kiffin's offense and BS being great because they did good against garbage teams. At least beat a SEC school or a team that won more than they lost last year before deeming it the greatest offense of all time.

The problem with the theory that inexperienced QBs can use the TEs as a safety valve/crutch for completions is this: Most TE routes are designed for the middle of the field. This is self evident based on where the TE traditionally lines up, beside an OT. Many coaches like their inexperienced QBs to throw to or near a sideline.
Why? Simply because there are typically less defenders to intercept the pass near the sidelines.

If you notice the NFL TEs that catch passes are often flexed out and remember the NFL's hash marks are much closer than the college hash marks.

OJ will make a good living in the NFL. He isn't done yet at Bama either.

He was cut in the offseason and we were just too embarrassed to tell anyone.

I was going to ask this same question before doing a search. I was also curious about Robert Foster and when he's expected to make an impact. I remember it being a big coup when Bama got him over Pitt. Meanwhile Pitt has Tyler Boyd from the same class blowing up and projected to go high when he's in the draft. Is this a case where Bama is so deep that a talent just gets lost in the shuffle or is he just not as good as people thought?

yes, he exists ... the coaches still say they want to get him involved ... however, they are only coaches ... there is only so much they can do ... it's not like they can coach the qb to look for the te or call plays that accentuate the abilities of the te ... or coach the qb to quit looking for the same receiver every single time ... or throw the ball downfield ...

Sims hit Vogler for the TD. Can you think of examples where the ball should have gone to Howard and it went somewhere else and didn't produce?

Sims is hitting over 91 percent of his 3rd down passes. His confidence and game management skills are getting better. Kiffin will open up the offense as is necessary.

Blake will throw to OJ when teams present the defense most susceptible to the TE pass plays.

Blake may even step into a throw and go deep before the year is out.

Been asking myself the same question...

Been optimistically answering myself with the point that Kiffin and Saban have been sandbagging.
