No, they don't need game managers in the NFL, they need QBs that can be down late in the fourth quarter with a minute left and take their team down the field and win the game when it counts.

They don't need someone like McCarron.

Oh, you mad.

I think it really comes down to the NFL moving away from these types of qbs. 5 years ago, AJ would be exactly what NFL teams wanted. But NFL teams seem to be moving to more high powered, throw out of the shotgun 40 times a game kind of teams.

This but I agree with other posters as well he is not ready and
If he does Go he needs to go to a team that has a set starter where he can learn and get stronger which means he will not be going high enough. I don't know what he will do at this point.

Yall are nuts. McCarron is absolutely good enough to make to the NFL.

I think he is likely gone after this year, even if they lose the BCS. I have heard more than one NFL analyst compare him to Tom Brady at this stage in his career...steady, heady player with adequate arm strength and size.

"I've seen nothing out of him that would suggest that he is ready to turn pro."

Solid decision making...accurate...strong enough arm...decent athletic ability.

Yeah, nothing there for the pros to look at.

And Tom Brady stayed in college all four years. Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, and Matt Ryan all stayed in college until their senior year. And all of those players were much better than McCarron at the same point in their college careers.

Why would he leave after this season? He wouldn't be a top pick.

Didn't Tom Brady only start 1 year?

If Tom Brady was coming out of college this draft. Everyone here would be saying Brady has zero chance of being good in the NFL. Brady was like 211 lbs. @ 6'4" when he went to the draft. He actually played in the Orange bowl his last game at 195 lbs. AJ is way bigger than him. And has been way better throughout college.

Brady's best season in college wasn't even as good as AJ's is this year.

Has Alabama ever had a QB leave early?
Corrected. Namath and Stabler did not leave early. Both were seniors when they were drafted. I forgot about freshmen not being able to play, so no stats for their freshman years.

Namath did not graduate from Alabama until 2007. He took online courses to complete his education and was able to walk across the stage and get his Alabama diploma in 2007.

Bray (if he stays), Murray, Logan Thomas, Mett, Tajh Boyd, etc.

He should stay, enjoy college and improve his draft stock.
