Tried to hang in until coastguard video...holy shite I could fake something better than that.
This is an interesting issue for all of the large events on the gulf. Big boats aren't entering the wahoo calcutta because they know they will not win it...same with swords. The modern day CC that is 39' long and can run 70 mph has caused a change of sorts.

One guy in that thread suggested a CC only tourney out of Venice. I have heard other mention the same. I think this would be an opportunity for someone to set up a tourney and make some cash.

The CC is only growing more versatile, fast and electronically equipped. IMO it is only a matter of time before they are as competitive with billfish as the big boats too.

I don't know JJ, but it appears he is quite good at his craft. I saw on Hulltruth his 39 Contender is for sale. Hope he didn't get frsutrated and make a rash decision.

If he coaches the Heat, they win the series.
Buster Posey made move from short to catcher at FSU...worked for him.

re: Mayweather vs Guerrero

Obviously, this should be an easy win for Money Mayweather. Guerrero has never fought on this stage or someone of this level. That being said, I have a funny feeling about this fight. I imagine that feeling is derived from the fact that just about every hall of fame fighter loses a shocker when they enter their mid-30s.

I could easily see a TKO win by Guerrero in the 3rd or 4th with a rematch in the fall in which Mayweather avenges the loss with a decisive victory.

The beauty of a loss by Mayweather would also bring back into play a fight between Pac and Money...a fight that is completely off the table as we sit here today before this fight.
and maybe there is a reason he never threw a pass and was rarely used on anything other than the occasional toss and slant route (aside from the fact that he had horrible hands...maybe he also has a low IQ).

Miles Larose....he is the real deal.
Watching Welter in the Spring game, I thought he looked like one of the better defensive players on the team.
I could see Miles gone in three years, but that will also mean that he has lost 5 games in back to back seasons. Anything more than that and he stays. If they fire him, they better already have his replacement lined up like Bama did with Saban as well.

We have seen with Arky and UTenn that the fire and assume method normally leaves you wanting more.
quote:

We have no way to know. Let's see who leaves and how spring goes. I could see 11-1 or 8-4. We need leaders to emerge in the off-season to restore the swag. Mett will be better. If we get one or both of the Juco receivers, he may be exponentially better. I think Freak emerges in his first money year. We may have Nkimdeche. Bama will be better. aTm will be better. Florida may be worse. State will be worse. Arky the same. Ole miss better. Auburn the same. UGA will be much worse losing so many to draft. I'll say 10-2 again as of now.

Wow, an LSU fan being rational. We have a winner. So you people think that we are gonna go from 10-3 with a close loss to the eventual national champ to not even being bowl eligible in one year returning, most likely 15 of 22 starters and getting Faulk, an All American, back?

I agree that Miles needs to get out of the offensive planning and playcalling business, but even if he doesn't, there is no way they only win 5 games.

You guys need to go for a walk, take a nap, go to a children's hospital....something, anything, to get some objectivity on the world and LSU football.

Grinding To A Halt - State Discussion

Posted by Anodyne on 11/11/12 at 10:02 am
First off, let me say that the score did not reflect the game between State and LSU last night. There were times when State seemed to pass the ball at will against LSU.

That being said, it was also quite obvious that State did not have the overall talent to compete with Bama, aTm or LSU.

What is the current outlook on the immediate future (next three years) with State by their fanbase?

It appears to me that the coaching is there, I just wonder if there is the ability to recruit to Starkville in a way that gets elite talent on the field to the extent that State is a realistic competitor in the SEC?

Also, if State loses to Arky this weekend but beats Ole Miss, will the fanbase consider this to be a successful season?
